IncuCube Bator

Well, I was pretty happy with my incCube, till now.... I just got up and checked it first thing, and my temp says 96.5!! How long overnight I don't know, but it was doing so good for the last 14 days and now this. I bumped it up just a little but now it's watching all the time to make sure it don't go up too much. I hate incubatores.

Ok... so I can't get my temp up!!! I hate to keep turning up the knob, but my thermometer now says 90.8, and it was down to 88 a little while ago. I think this hatch will be messed up too. This is the second set of eggs in my incCube and so far no chicks to show for it.

Wow seems like something is really wrong with the unit first I would double check all the connections if you have another inverter I would try that as for your eggs I forgot one time to turn mine back on when it was cold for 8 hrs and the temp got down to 73 all my eggs hatched on time so it isn't critical but you need to either figure it out and get it working or use another incubator...

When I first setup my IncuCube I was not happy with the temp reading and the alignment of the knob. I took it off and using the notch in the top used that as my guide and kept a screwdriver handy to make any adjustments and get feel for how this one was going to read. Once I had it set at 100 for longer than 2 days I put the knob back on and set it by tightening the set screw. I am in the lower red area and it's been constant. I find my overall room temp has something to do with the temp changes on the guage. It went from fairly nice here to March like temps and rain all day long and into the night. I needed to adjust every so slightly for this.

The Egg o Meter has been sitting in an egg cup since setting the eggs. It looks like an egg but is really my temp reader. I then added a temp/hydrometer reader that had a probe end that sits just under the egg turner. Both of the readers are outside the Cube but each as been giving me almost the same temp reading from the beginning. I did not have to give up space to fit something else inside and I can read the temps easily. I like having the two readers to give me a better idea of the overall average temp inside. Not sure about humidity at lockdown so that is my next challenge.

What is an inverter? I tried to unplug the motor/fan and when I plugged it back in the temp started going back up from 84 to 97 then it quit raising again. I've turned the knob all the way to red, it don't make any difference. I'm thinking about putting a heating pad over the bator to try and save my eggs. do you think that may work. I thought these bators had a 1 year warranty on them. When I check at incubator warehouse they don't even list them now. So disapointing.

Marymac,

They do have a one year warranty. If you contact them about your issue, they will take care of it no questions asked I'm sure. You may of just got a faulty heater controller. Good luck. Les

I finally got mine to a little above 97 degrees last night and went to bed. When I got up at 7:30 this morning ( Sunday) it had dropped to a 77.3 degrees. I moved the knob a little and it started going up so we left for church.. when we came back 3 hours later it was back down and on 78.. Now either way I turn it it doesn't go up and the it isn't hot and cool air is coming out of fan.. I unplugged it a little while ago..

Guess I'd better be glad I hadn't set any eggs in it yet... I'd really be in a pickle..

I'll get an email off to Randy..
