The Incu-Cube sells for $99.99 and holds 15 eggs. The Incubator Warehouse also sells the Hova Bator 1602N combo for $119.00 and it holds 41 eggs. Is it just me or is this little incubator a little overpriced? for $20.00 more I think it is better to have an option of hatching more eggs. Is the Incu-Cube a much better product or are people just paying a high price because it is a new concept?

for me it was the right size, and I couldn't make up my mind about the LG or hovebator . I hear so many negative and then positive. I don't know nothing about which is better, and I don't have much room for chickens, so I want to breed and raise some of my own BLRW's and I hope this smaller version will help keep me in control. Seems like they are all expensive if you get the fan, turner and themp/ hydo thingys. I've searched on Craigslist now for about 1 year to buy a used one, and by the time I responded someone always beats me to it or they are too far away or they want more than i can afford. So I just gave up and I'm hoping this will be what I need. If not , it won't be the first 90.00 bucks I spent on something I shouldn't have.

hatching eggs is an addiction

so having a small one is good heavens I always fill mine up and it holds 60 so for 90.00 delivered to my house was a good deal to me that way I can test eggs and not feel the need to hatch out so many I hope

For me, I liked the cube design, large viewing window and It could be ordered as a complete kit. The fact they offer a warrenty and this has been in testing during their development tells me that they want to offer a good product. This forum is quite verbal in the forum of opinion. Guess I better start saving eggs next week.

Maybe someone who has received their "Cube" can start a new topic that is name specific so it's easier to find? Just a thought.. then we can all take note and compare our startup experience and hatching. I am going to keep a journal so I don't forget anything .. Somedays I suffer from CRS.

Well the first thing I've noticed is that the temp control is very touchy.

I wish it had a little more "play" OR that it could just be "pre-set" at 99.5. Of course then it would only work for Chickens.

If I move it one way it goes over 101, if I move it another way its down to 98. I'll figure it out eventually.

With the turner in, I only had one place to put the therm/hygrometer. I put it up in the window area above the turner motor so it wouldn't fall. It's quite heavy.

When I compare it with the one I got at radio shack that I've used successfully for the past 3 hatches, it says I'm only at 97.3, but that may be because it's sitting next to the thin window material.

I wish that the window were made of thicker material. It feels a tiny bit flimsy.

Other than that, the turner is working well. Like I mentioned, the Salmon Faverolle lays banty sized eggs and they fell through the holes.
If I had it to do over again I would have just lined the holes with duct tape to assure that the egg wouldn't fall through the holes.

Also when you put in the turner, you have to be certain that it's right in the middle or one side or the other will catch on the wall as it moves.

So far so good, I'm going back in to check the temp here in a minute.

I like the name IncuCube. I think I'll name mine the Borgbator. The eggs will be assimilated into CHICKS!

I put a probe from another thermometer/hygrometer in.... right at egg level.

The temp constantly fluctuates. It will go down to 98.8 and up to 101.1, up, then down, up then down.

I suppose if it averages 99.5 then I'm good.

I guess other than the Brinsea, there is no such thing as "set and forget".

But half the fun I suppose, is mother-henning the incubator!
