IncuCube Bator

I also heard from Randy today, I guess I freaked a little at first, but I have decided to stay in the testing program. I have it up and running, except I have to hand turn my eggs. The temperature has stabilized fairly well now. I do like the open view of the window and the small size for a small hatch. I only have 5 eggs in. I cut up a Styrofoam egg carton and punched a nice hole in the bottom and put my little eggs in that. The thermometer lays on top of the turner about the same height as the eggs.

well maybe tomorrow the temp will be right I need to get eggs in but don't want to cook them still over 102 I keep turning it down little by little. It seals shut well I haven't put any water in the cubes yet will tomorrow.....the turner seems to be working without eggs

I certainly won't call it a piece of junk yet.

Like I said, the proof of any incubator is in the candling and in the hatch, so, We've got 2 weeks left.

I am getting concerned about ventilation in the incubator. I keep reading that it needs ventilation, but I don't see any vent holes on this incubator. Does anyone know how we are supposed to provide ventilation?

I'd drill a quarter sized hole at the top and the bottom side of the bator if it really does seal shut. If there are gaps in the plastic, it should be fine. Eggs do need oxygen exchange for the developing chick to grow.

I was thinking the same thing , but the humidity does go down, so it has to be escaping somewhere.

When I add too much water I just use something to prop up one corner. We'll see if it works... this entire thing is an experiment now anyway.

If you guys read the instructions and then look carefully at the clear window, at the four bottom corners you will SEE there are little slots that aren't sealed up under the window..that let air in..they aren't big..more like tiny "slits" but they are there none the less.

I heard back from Randy yesterday as well...he said they are addressing the shipping and autoturn cradle breakage concerns among others..and will be sending my a REV 2 autoturn cradle to replace my broken one.

SO far, I am happy with their follow up and customer service during this process.

Dan
