Well, I candled and 7 of the 8 eggs are good. The one that went bad was one that got a crack on the top when the therm/hygrom fell on top of it.
There really needs to be a smaller unit or a way to tape it in that would work. Duct tape usually works well for everything but not in this instance.
I've taped over the air slots long ago and I still loose humidity.
If I put the 7 eggs back in the bator, I'm dooming them to death, because I can't keep the humidity up and I don't have a drill nor any way to put a tube in.
In the hovabator I at least have a hole for a tube to add water.
So for the test, and since this bator didn't have a hole drilled in it already to add a tube, we'll doom them to death.
I'm putting in extra water but it will be down to 20% within 5 hours. That's just the way it is.
Oh well.
I'll be back on Friday to tell you if any made it. I doubt they will.
