flyweed, Thanks for those pics, now I know where to look for my air slots. i swear I have looked and looked and I still couldn't find them. I agree Mahonri should stick it out. He has provided good info here. Does any one know how the 1 year warranty will work? I myself received no warranty papers with my unit. Just wondered if any one else did.

I saw this Incubator and I thought it was a good idea. I am so glad I did not buy one! I think you guys that are testing them should get a refund from the Company. I have never heard of a Company making the Testers pay for the product they are testing, they should be paying you!

ah..i dunno about that. to make a GOOD and read "ACCURATE" incubator you are going to spend that much in quality materials. my LG forced air and egg turner was MORE than this..and is basically junk in my opinion and my Brinsea was MUCH MORE than this, but excellent. I don't think the $90 is bad for a test run. BUt that's just me.

I know it seems strange to pay to be a test person but in the software world it is an everyday thing to pay a slightly lesser amount from full price to beta test software. Not free and not cheap either. I have been on both sides as a beta tester and now working for the software developer.. I felt the price we were offered to be in the test group a fair one. It they had wanted a silent test group in my opinion it would have been approached in a much more controlled group that would not be posting good/bad/horrible thoughts on a very public forum with who knows how many eyes watching. This to me says a lot of good in my book for them as a manufacturer/seller. They are willing for the 'dirty laundry" to hang out which everway it blows in the breeze of public opinion.

I priced the common ones and thought they were all pretty pricy for what you get, you're right there. That is one reason I thought the incCube was a good deal ,( at least for my needs) for 90.00. Although I must admit, we seeked out the incCube, not the other way around. I still am wondering about the warranty.

Well, I candled and 7 of the 8 eggs are good. The one that went bad was one that got a crack on the top when the therm/hygrom fell on top of it.

There really needs to be a smaller unit or a way to tape it in that would work. Duct tape usually works well for everything but not in this instance.

I've taped over the air slots long ago and I still loose humidity.

If I put the 7 eggs back in the bator, I'm dooming them to death, because I can't keep the humidity up and I don't have a drill nor any way to put a tube in.

In the hovabator I at least have a hole for a tube to add water.

So for the test, and since this bator didn't have a hole drilled in it already to add a tube, we'll doom them to death.

I'm putting in extra water but it will be down to 20% within 5 hours. That's just the way it is.

Oh well.

I'll be back on Friday to tell you if any made it. I doubt they will.

Could you just fill the whole bottom with an inch of water? I have about 40% of the floor area of my bator filled with water to keep humidity up at 50% around here, and ambient humidity usually runs from 70-85% inside.

Mahonri... just fill up the entire bottom of the bator. it is one large cup and forget trying to fill the small dishes. OR....you can use a pencil, pen or sharp knife to push a hole through for tubing..you don't NEED a drill....this is only styrofoam..OR...if you have a metal clothes hanger, or some other piece of metall..you can heat it up over a lighter, stove flame, or other and melt a hole in the bator and then insert a tube. Either way it should work

If your humidity has been fluxtuating as much as you say it's been and you still have 7 viable eggs, maybe it's your hygrometer and not the bator. Just a thought.
