Incuview or Genesis? Which do you like better?

Is it actually possible to calibrate the hygrometer that comes integrated into the bator unit? If so, how do you do it? I have a completely separate calibrated hygrometer that I use because I know that the one in the unit is faulty but if there was a way to measure how 'faulty' it is without a separate unit, that would be helpful to folks.
Calibrate is not too accurate I suppose!

You will be seeing how accurate the readings are. If the incubator is set at 99.5 but is really at 101, then you would adjust the temp. Same with the hygrometer.

Yes, for independently calibrated instruments to use against the built in ones, absolutely! I just wondered if there was a way, for the hygrometer, to test the built in one say with the salt slurry?

The ones in the genesis and the brinsea are up inside covers so you can't get to them.

Brinsea has a service where you send the incubator to them and they calibrate it. Since they are digital, they use some sort of sensor system that we do not have access to. Brinsea suggest that you send the incubator in to them every three years. I have not done this though.

I haven't tried the Incuview, but I am loving my Genesis. It hold temperature really well, I'm running it dry and the humidity is staying between 30-35%. I have a separate, calibrated hydrometer and thermometer in the incubator. So far, my Genesis has been accurate with those.

I made the choice and ordered the new incubator. I wound up ordering a Genesis since I had some past experience with it and I have an egg turner too. I also figured the Styrofoam may be more difficult to clean but it should be more insulating.

Cleaning has not been an issue for me. Just make sure your clean it immediately after you have got all the hatchlings out. Take all the trays out and wash and then soak them in a weak bleach solution. Use more weak bleach solution in a spray bottle and spray the inside styrofoam (not the control unit) and let everything air dry!
