Indian Runner duck

They are all turning into such beautiful ducks, I just love seeing them :)
They never do want to cooperate for picture time...i have so many pictures of just duck butts while their ignoring me and foraging, haha.
Little Sheldon looks just like her mom! I have a funny feeling Joan may be a boy :/ She/ he looks exactly like Stuart did as a young duck and he used to chase the girls around the pool nipping at their tail feathers...I so hope I'm wrong.
That's fantastic they are haning out next to the big ducks and giving Sambo a talking to when needed :) Keeping you busy with all the seperate pools, food and water for sure.
We sure should come visit soon!
Oh no, I hope you're wrong about Joan! She is the smallest of the 4 so hopefully, that is a good sign that she's not a boy. Both of yours don't put up with Sambo a bit and aren't shy about going right after him. I was shocked when I saw it. I was sure it would be Sambo going after them but he runs away from them scared to death like a big old sissy.

I've gotten a routine down now with the 3 separate areas for them so it's become easier every day. The kids march out to their little area first in the morning. I put out their food bucket and shut their gate. Then I open the big pen and the girls head right out to the outside run. Their food bucket goes out. Then I grab Sambo and put him in the inner run with the kids. His food bucket goes out. I collect the eggs, clean out the pens and that's it for the day. I clean all the water buckets and pool the night before so it's really just about 10 minutes total in the morning and everyone is settling into the area and routine. You know how they like routine!

These are a few of mine.

Haha, Sambo is going to have his hands full with those two :) Sheldon can be a bit bossy at times too.
They sure do love routine. They always let me know if I'm late for any scheduled activities or if we change things a bit.
We do our water and pool at night too, makes things so much easier in the mornings.

Haha, since you asked! this is my whole crew. The white one, Daisy, got killed by a falcon. He was my drake so then I got the little chocolate boy this February who is the dad of the babies who are now 4 weeks old. I kept 4 of the 11 just hatched.View attachment 1829192 View attachment 1829191 View attachment 1829190 View attachment 1829185 View attachment 1829181 View attachment 1829180 View attachment 1829179 View attachment 1829183 View attachment 1829184 View attachment 1829196
