Hi I have 4 ducks at the moment, 2 are Indian runners and not sure on the other 2 just know there going to be white, but the youngest which is an Indian runner is walking with its feet turned inwards

Best pictures I can get him/her at the moment, he's very clumsy on his feet and would rather sit in a corner than join the others, he doesn't eat or drink half as much as the other 3 I,m very worried. I think they eat quiet well the have lettuce, peas, cabbage, mushrooms, tomatoes without the stalks and chick crumb and oats and plenty of water which I add apple cider vinegar too he's about 6/7 weeks old. If anyone could help that would be great

Well, with all that variety of food, I hope they are getting chick grit, so they can chew it, and avoid digestive impaction (that's a good-news, bad-news thing - good for variety, bad if no grit in the diet).

Chick crumb is low in niacin for ducklings, so I would start right away with either a tablespoon of brewer's yeast in their food once a day, or 150 mg plain niacin dissolved in each gallon of drinking water. I would keep that up for eight weeks. Low niacin can lead to leg problems and neurological problems.

Thankyou so much which would you say was better brewers yeast or the niacin? And when should he show signs of possible improvement?

Brewer's yeast has a wider variety of b vitamins, but niacin - if that is the missing vitamin - may (I am guessing) be more available from the capsules. I just don't know - people have used both, and both have been helpful in many cases. It mostly depends upon what is available. Some folks tell me they cannot find niacin in any of their stores.

So see what is there, and go with your gut.

When there is a positive response, it is often seen within a week.
