I have done this to several roos that start to get a little aggressive. I have some powder for birds that make them stop bleeding when you trim their nails so after I pull them off, I put on some of that and no problem!

Mine? I've thought that many times about my little guy. She sent me frizzle eggs and one of the ones that was labeled frizzle did hatch, but I couldn't tell which chick had hatched from it, and none of the ones that lived came out frizzled. However, my little Stella (yeah, we thought for the longest time that he was a she, and he knows his name, so we just kept it, lol) has 4 wing feathers, and while they don't curl outward like you would expect in a frizzle, they do curl just a little inward. But Stella is the most naked bird I've ever seen, and I think he would surprise even people on here. Like I said above, I considered the thought that he's a frizzle with the double gene, but then that doesn't explain his stunted growth, or at least I don't THINK it does. I won't be selling him, no one would want him. But he isn't going into my breeding pens either. By the time he's fully mature Fall will be here, and he'll be moving inside for the winter. I don't need more little naked babies, unless I plan to process birds, and I don't!

I wondered how that would go, but I also know his crow wasn't too loud so I was pretty sure your Dad wouln't mind too aweful much. as far as Kernal goes, Kathleen hadn't mentioned to me that you were thinking of having that done so I was imagining the worst.
When I told her that you said kernals spurs were pulled off she explained it to me. At first I though maybe he was fighting with a neighbor rooster and got them caught in the cage or something.

Styptic powder. I raised parrots for years but I always felt that it was a waste of money when flour stops the bleeding just as well. Parrots can bleed very easily, and I had one mauled by a small dog years ago, and she was at risk of bleeding to death. I used the flour and it stopped the bleeding immediately. I use it now with my chickens when they bleed and it works exactly the same.

The bleeding had stopped after the spurrs were pulled. It's when he got home and met his girls again when the tip broke off. I think it wasn't hardened enough. Now he is in his own cage for a few days until I change his bandages again and see how they are. He wont be put back with his girl until he's healed up and the new spurrs have hardened. If the infection doesn't heal up then he's gonna have to visit Dr. Beth. which I hope not

You know, I was looking through the pictures of last year's stock and saw the pic of miss jayne painting faces and I wish we could have that again this year.

I think that the kids had a good time with that! Too bad that we don't know anyone else that is an experienced face painter! Do any of you know someone?? Even if you did it would probably too short of notice, but I thought I'd at least ask.

THE SURPRIZE STUFF WAS DELIVERED BY UPS TODAY!
I won't let the cat out of the bag cause Kathleen would kill me but..... This is something new that I'd almost bet that none of you have yet!!!! If you do your lucky!
