Hey Jen! I finally got a Silkie chick from Favor! Only one, so far, though!

Also, I will not have any Royal Palm poults this year

My hen laid EXACTLY enough eggs to fill my orders, and she has been broody ever since.

I'm sorry Kathleen, I will let you know when I get some from her. If you still want one or two we could take a road trip to Indi, I am sure!

Hey baby, Yea!!! A egg!! I still think you need to send her to my house!! LOL!!

Thanks Attack!! She is one of my favs!!!

Okay, I think I have decided what I will be bringing.....a 5-gallon cooler of iced tea, a strawberry cake, and a main dish (not sure what yet!).

I have 2 Cochin chicks-one smooth, one frizzled, and MAYBE a couple Silkie chicks

I also have 2 roos and 5 hens that I will sell for $20 (for all). They look like OEGB, but are not pure. They are excellent layers! I am getting 4-5 eggs a day from them. I want to stick with just Silkies and Orpingtons, that is why I am selling them. I also have a trio of babies from them that are a month old right now, and I should have a few more chicks from them in the next couple of weeks-thanks to my broody turkey! They will all go along with the flock, unless someone wants just a few. PM me if you are interested in them, because I don't want to bring them if nobody wants them. They are EXCELLENT free-rangers!
I am looking for Royal Palm eggs or poults, and Silkie hens pullets or eggs (B/B/S) and also B/B/S Orpingtons-eggs, chicks, or even a pair or trio. Let me know what you have!

Hi everyone!

I have a few updates to the main page but I want to post them here as well.

I know I have been away quite a bit but I am checking in as often as I can. Thank you all for keeping this thread alive and well. The party is still a go and I will try to check in more often since we are only a month away.

I am going to go through the thread and see if I need to add more to the list. First I want to get the announcements made so we can get some final details together.

Areas I will need volunteers for are:

Games, Contests and Activities
If you would like to host a contes, please PM me what contest it is and what time you would like to have it, who will be involved and if a prize will be donated.
Greatest distance traveled challenge-I will need to have a volunteer to take a poll of everyones travel distance for a prize.
Chicken Pinata-I will need a volunteer to head up the organization of this children's activity. We will have it filled and set up.

THIS IS A MUST READ

Parking
Parking will be in front of the house, diagonally along the street, additional parking will be on the grass adjacent to the drive. If additional parking is needed, we will have folks park along the street. My neighbors are all ok with this but please do not block anyone's drive or vehicle. PARKING IS NOT IN THE SAME LOT AS LAST YEAR, DO NOT PARK THERE!!! I cannot stress this enough, anyone who attempts to park there is at risk, again DO NOT PARK IN THE NEIGHBORS LOT! Anyone needing to drop off items, birds or people, please pull into our driveway for unloading only and park your vehicle as soon as your vehicle is unloaded.

FOOD

I know last year there was no shortage of food and I want to make sure this year has a great menu as well.
Now that I am back to work is has been difficult to prepare anything ahead of time.
Rob and I will be roasting a whole hog and I have prepared a little pulled pork and pulled BBQ chicken.
What I am hoping to see are side dishes, which a lot of you have signed up for. For that I sincerely thank you!

We will be in need of bread and paper goods as well. Can anyone help with this?

Arrival time:
Please fell free to arrive as early as 8 or 9. I will be setting up a table for sign in where you will receive a name tag. Please make sure you sign in!

Ok that's all I can think of right now but will update you as needed. Just a little over a month left!! Can't wait to meet the new folks and see familiar faces and friends once again!

Hi Lori,
We are on the south side if Indianapolis, there is a map on the main page. This is an all day event and it is 8/7/2010. Please do come and enjoy the chicken festivities! I will email this to you as well!!

I have added several people to the tentative list and updated the main page! Sorry but I really don't think I will have time to update the different birds.
Babymakes6, don't worry about the turkey, we will try to find one or if you have one later on, we would be happy to have a tom!

Anyone bringing food that will need to be kept warm, I urge you to please bring an extension cord.
Thanks bunches!!
