Indiana 2010 Chickenstock-2011 NEWS!!

Ok guys, I have been hoping to make a special guest announcement and I finally received confirmation today!!
Dr. Beth Breitweiser who is an avain and farm animal specialist will be here along with her staff!
She has taken care of a few of our birds as well as a few other BYC members. Dr. Beth grew up with chickens and is a graduate of Purdue University. She owns and operates All Wild Things Exotic Animal Hospital in Indianapolis. She is a great vet and hope that anyone in need of veterinary care will look to her.

I know Shelley is bringing deviled quail eggs but we don't have anyone bringing chicken eggs! Are you in for that?

I will definitely be finding out recipes on quail eggs. To me they seem too small to do anything with but they seem to have many uses.

I'm sure that DH and I will be getting lots of quail and their eggs. WE plan to by many chicks if they are available. That Phoenix in my avatar is for sale or trade. Maybe we can do a little trading. He'll be there. His tail is a big ratty now because he's been getting it stepped on alot lately but if put in a pen with a hen or two it should turn back nice again. He and his wives are babysitting some pullets for me right now. They're great for showing them the ropes like perching and to go to their pen at dusk for bed.

When somebody from Indiana comes to visit down here or I come up there to visit my brother and hear the northern accent it's almost like it used to be when I would come down here in the summers when I was a kid. I have to listen closer to understand what they're saying. They call us Yankees down here. Go farther south and we are Yankees here. lol

I was born in Wisconsin and moved to Kokomo, Indiana when I was 5. Talkin about accents! Ever heared the far north accent???? It sounds more canadian than american, I go back "home" and all my family "up Nort" thinks I sound like I'm from WAY DOWN south!

ETA: Which is very funny because I "learned" to talk there but you should hear me when I come back home from visiting there, I have two extreem accents rolled into one!

Yeah if we could get someone else to help out with bread that would be great. I've been unemployed since November and money is starting to get tight.
