Non chicken related question, do any of you have pet rabbits?

Wife and I have been kicking around the idea of a pet rabbit, juct curious if anyone has experience with them? I like the look of the Holland lops or mini lops. I keep reading that , mini rabbits tend to be more high strung so I'm leaning towards the fullsize.

I would like to keep it in the house, but I think we might have to do a combination indoor/outdoor. I have some leftover wood for a hutch anyway.

Anyone have pro's and cons?

I believe rabbits can lean towards the smelly side inside. However with reg clean up I am sure they would be fine in the house. I know there are a few people on here who have either kept and raised or still have rabbits. Hopefully someone can chip in and give you the skinny on them.

Ok this story is completley unrelated to chickens and dogs lol. Yesterday was my sisters birthday and her husband let her pick her own present, For his birthday he got $400 worth of cowboy boots. So she decided she was going to get an iphone 5, it cost a little more lol. So i went with her to get it. We spent an hour having someone set it up. Iphone 5's have siri. I have wanted to try siri for a while now. and she wass nice enough to let be the first one to use it one her new phone!!! I said serach for backyard chickens, brought up this website, then gas stations and it brought up ones near me. Of course i'm over there giggling, because I was thrilled I got to use siri. and i didnt realize I said it into the phone and I said I bet it isnt as cool as the epsisode on the big bang theory. It heard it and looked up the show! I went to breakfast with her this morning and asked if i could talk to siri again. She let me. I said hi, and siri said good morning. I carried on a conversation with it. Which i just find amazing that people made some elctronic capable of doing something like that. Then my sister told me what she said to it last night. She asked wether siriwas a boy or a girl (voice sound like a girl more than boy). Its response was I was not programed with a gender. Now I want an iphone 5!. Apparently siri comes on ipads, but I would use it way more on a phone. O and BTW if you didnt already realize this from my story, I am a geek. lol

Y'know the same kinda conversations can be had with people..... Although I will admit to being a nerd at times. I am a big WoW fan :thumbsup

So I sent an email to the seller of the modern games I had purchased to verify we were still good on shipping this week. I just got his reply:
"Hi brad, I hate to tell you but I had something get in the pen and kill all but 2 young females. I am sorry. I will refund your money for the rest and still ship you just to 2 females or I can refund you all of the money.
I also have Cornish, old English and white silkies, as well as other things if you want something else.
Sorry once again
Matt"

What?!? I know things happen, but it makes me wonder when he was planning to tell me if I hadn't sent him the email? I declined the two females and asked for a full refund. Now to decide if I should go on a hunt for more....

Hmm... sounds iffy. I would think if they were 'yours' he would have contacted you as soon as he had assessed the situation with them. Not tell you in passing because you enquired.
As for finding more... I am sure more will find you, if not... make more room for some lovely Cochins :D

You would of thought he would of emailed you when it happened to let you know. I hope you can find someone else to get them from
Ccccc- we have iPhones and iPads too.. I too am absolutely amazed at all the technology!!! We were just talking the other day about how just a few years ago while on vacation, we would pass towns on the interstate and ask" why this was named that, or who a person was ( that had something named for them). And how now we whip out out our phones and every answer we need is there!! We also take tons more pics now, and I'm usually impressed with how they look. My MIl asked yesterday about our cell phone bill because she and my stepson are on with us. I told her I didn't know because my DH pays it on line, she kept saying" when the bill comes??" I couldn't get her to understand we don't do paper anymore! Sometimes it's all hard to comprehend!!
Some people just dont understand technology and dont get it lol. I love that I have the anwser to so many questions right at my fingertips. Technology can make life so simple and so complicated at the same time
I just upgraded to an iPhone 4S that has suri on it, you can actually program it wether you want a male or female voice

Ya I knew the 4s had it too, but I want the iphone 5 because it takes better pics and is faster. I probably wont get one but a girl can want lol!

Blue eggs-ameraucanas, araucanas, cream legbars
I found this website a while back works great for referring to stuff if you cant just remember it

I'm trying my hand at hatching some CCL that might lay a blue egg or might lay a blueish green egg.  If the only thing I get is roosters, then both Brad and i will have extra roosters with the blue genes.  Picturing a rooster in a pair of levi's now.  Lovely night time humour.

I think I am going to have to separate the Lavenders to a pen of their own. He is still not manly enough for anything and she is showing no signs of laying yet. Both of them are on the softer side and they both fret over the sight of the Rocks coming near them. This will leave the EE's and Rocks roosterless. Looking to find a nice full something to breed the EE's with for plenty more EE chicks for spring.

I have pet rabbits. I did have mutltiple but they are all older and am now done to one as the other passed from old age. After she dies I am not going to get anymore. I love rabbits, I just dont want anymore right now. I have had polish, mini rex, mini lops, holland lops, californian (spelling?), and a few others including mixes. My smaller rabbits were never high strung. Youjust need to handle them. I like having inside rabbits, you just have to clean their cages frequently. i always liked the idea of litter training a rabbit and letting it stay out of them cage except when gone or at night. i have litter trainined a rabbit but never let it run around the house. I have also leash trainined rabbits. Rabbits are good pets, the only con I can think of is if you are allergic to rabbits you might get a runny nose. But I have a lot of animals I am allergic to.
Siri is also on the older Apple phones. They are cheaper. Unless you must have the latest.

i do not hav ethe money to buy one, but if I did i would get the newest one

Awesome link, saving to my favs. Thanking you.
No problem I have found it very helpful in the past

Ya but I can talk to people anytime, I just find it so cool that something without a brain, heart, or feelings can carry on a conversation with someone. I know they made it to be able to do that, but it is amazing that some one made that. What is WOW mean?

Haha. Siri can be fun, but I don't use "her" that much anymore.

He replied saying he'll refund my fund sometime next week. Something about getting ready for a show. I calmly but firmly explained that refunding money via PayPal is rather simple with a couple clicks and would prefer to have my money back now so that should I stubble across other birds I'd be able to purchase them. I stated that I would hate to be inconvenienced twice over this matter. I got my refund a little bit ago. I'm not comfortable with someone hanging onto over $100 of my money when the time left to submit a PayPal claim against them is getting down to the wire. Lol

yes I have a couple legbar cockerels available that I'd give you a good deal on! Lol
