INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

On the CL post...

Somehow I don't think it's the ROOSTERS that are morons.... Really got a good laugh out of that one!

Just found out I need to clean the water heater for my house. Any recommendation for how to do this, the heater is electric.

John I'm sure you will have an answer that is economical and easy.

I'd type in the search box of YouTube "how to drain out an electric water heater." They have answers for absolutely everything, sometimes even tutorials. I know that should be done every couple of years, but I've never done it myself. Good luck to ya!

His chicks are great chicks too. If I was closer to him I think half or even 3/4 of my flock would be brad's chicks.

I did pm him and am now very excited at the possibility of getting some birchen marans from he as well as maybe a couple of silkies. Also excited about also possibly getting some chicks from Kabhyper1 as well.

Thanks for the help! I forgot all about Rural King, and they do indeed have pullets right now (barred rock and easter eggers) and are getting more (breeds) in next week! Thank you so much!

Quote: We have always had gas water heaters before. They were mush more user friendly from changing the water temp to taking less time to heat the water. But we converted over to all electric a while back. The gas company started charging a bunch of fees for reading the meter and maintaining the company lines, not property lines. Then there was talk of making a property line service program mandatory. We just decided to switch to electric only. Kind of funny, now the gas company still has to maintain their lines and even read our meters to make sure there are no leaks or gas stealing going on but I'm not charged any of their fees and we don't participate in their property line program either.

Anyone been to the martinsville rural king lately? The lady on the phone was less than helpful when I asked what breed they had!

barb~ My mistake. I didn't notice the word "bantam" in your post! No wonder those LF eggs looked so large.

HouseKat~ Thanks for posting this. I signed it and wrote a letter. They still need more signatures, chicken lovers.

Webechickens~ Three broodies well, two broodies! Haha Funny that one hen just quit-- enough of that boring job!
She did not actually die that is why I put "passed away". She had a torn tendon and a couple of toes that were out of place, not how she did it but it was obvious she was not going to get better. I found someone to do the deed for me.
