Well thanks to Janet for cleaning out my brooders (literally! I think I sent her home with just under 15 chickens!) I was able to move some around. I got a temporary silkie pen together. The roo was originally in with my partridge pen until I came home to him bloody and beardless. Him and the other roo got into it and the white lost lol. So the last several weeks he has been a lonely bachelor. I didn't want to put just the single white pullet in with him as I figured he would over breed her. So my next youngest partridge pullet is in with the pair of whites now. Here are some quick pictures I snapped with cell phone.

Well, I had always heard the stories about Silkies, but this still came as a surprise to me! Margie's gone broody! At 7 months old!

Thats what they do!!! Lol stick some eggs under her! I have some bearded eggs if you want.

jchny ~ You are going to have to re-enroll in a remedial chicken math course because you are supposed to be subtracting, not adding chickens!

Haha, thanks for the congrats, everyone, but I don't think I really want chicks this time of the year! Looks like I'll be putting up a broody-busting pen tomorrow--she's darned determined to stay on her nest, eggs or no eggs!

Okay so my silkies are still laying and I don't like eating the eggs. I have fertile eggs everyday from them. They are really too small to eat and make really cute babies. Anyone interested?
