Thanks so much. I feel badly telling you all about it, but it somehow makes things better to get it out. You all have become like a little family to me, no I'm not a lonely computer troll, this is the first forum I have ever used lol.

On a lighter note, this little one is seriously the fluffiest 5 week old I have ever seen. I love her! I came home from a terrible day and those 11 little fluff balls put a smile on my face. This little girl needs a name.

What a week. My sister in laws brother died in a car accident, and today my moms best friends husband who we have known for 25 years died unexpectedly. It has been a very emotional difficult week. If anyone needs to get in touch with me about chickies, I will still be on here off and on during the next few days. I really hope this is the last of the shocks for awhile. I'm not sure my family can take much more.
So sorry to hear of your losses. It's so hard to learn of unexpected deaths, but seems even more awful when it happens right around the holidays.

She's adorable!

You can't help but smile when you look at her. How about Grace or Gracie?

That is really cute! I am thinking of naming a couple of them Bogie and Bacall, So Gracie would be great! Maybe I can find a George.

We moved the last of the chicks out of the basement tonight. They are in the brooder cage in the new coop with a red light on them. Originally I was going to try and make it until next week but we had the time and they were just too big for our basement brooder. I did not want to mess around with finding a tall large box and filling it with shavings for just a few days. I'm really hoping they don't pile tonight.
On a different note, my RIR heritage chickens are not snow lovers at all.

And of all things they won't eat chicken liver. maybe they were not really hungry but all of the other chickens dived right in. The ducks maintained their distance and keep up their foraging and beak digging in random spots. So I have 6 RIR and 2 ducks that did not touch the liver, they were the ones the liver treats were for too.

Here is a picture of the d'uccle enjoying her little condo. I also failed to mention this is the one that is epileptic. She ate all of her food today too! She hasn't had much of an appetite latley, not losing weight but was not eating a lot. I think it might of been, because she wasn't very happy with her previous living circumstances.

Hey guys! I managed to track down some silkies to buy but just found out they are all bantam! Is it hard to get silkies in LF??? I had someone just tell me they aren't a very small bantam and could go in with the LF they are just smaller but I've never actually seen one just in books and online.
