INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Merry Christmas back at all y'all.

Santa brought me a lava lamp (wanted one that last 30 years) and my DW got me a weather staion. The chickens were not impressed, all they wanted was some cracked corn:
^^^should be able to call Mars with that thing, or at least stop the government moon beams ror.

^^^we call her *Floppy*. No issues with frost bite comb yet! Still getting 30-35 eggs/week from our 7 girls.

And yes, that's a real rotary phone y'all see. Still works great, but the sound quality is poor.
Too Fast ~
I love your new spaceship! Maybe ET will visit.

Here's our rotary phone that was the "basement phone" when my husband was a kid. A friend just gave me the 1955 vintage telephone ad reproduction. We used to use it when our power went out, but then our phone service switched to digital so no longer could work. Soon afterwards, we stopped using a landline since we all use our cell phones. When my kids were little, we had to show them how you dial all the way around until it stops before you let go.

And here's my favorite gift (from my sister with my daughters' help). It's an iPhoto calendar with photos of my chickens. I love it!! I love how she put my Jubilee Orp's fluffy butt on the back.

Inside example: Here's my crazy floppy-combed RIR, Nene.

Adeline is "The End"

M2H, yes she is a LF blue English ORP and she is setting LF EO eggs. Definitely some black and blue, possibly some splashes will hatch out as well. Are you wanting some chicks?
Kiniska ~ Ooooh, it's very, very tempting!

I was thinking about getting two bantam Cochins in the spring, but I do love my English Orps and I'd love a blue one and a splash one. Please keep me posted. One concern is spending the money on pricey chicks and ending up with two cockerels. On the other hand, I'd really like to be able to bond with young chicks. I wonder if one of my orps will go broody. I realized that Adeline started laying about a week before Bonbon since they are the only ones who are laying in the coop nesting boxes. The others prefer a box in the garage.

Btw, what is the cap on your roo's head? Is it to protect his comb from frostbite? I don't remember seeing that before, but no one else questioned it, so I must be the only confused one.

How does it stay on?

kabhyper ~ Love your Silkies! They know how to pose. Are those ones you are selling? (I'd love a couple of Silkies, but I have limited space).
jchny~ Sorry to hear about your aunt's passing, especially at Christmastime.

Hope the camera works! I'm glad it arrived.

So far I am not selling these babies. I am hatching more at some pont, and I can ship eggs if you want to hatch your own. Maybe next spring we can do a chicken train and I can get some to you. :)

Ahhh no! My coop isn't big enough. I'm thinking of selling our two coops we built this year for more hobby type people, and building a breeding barn for the silkies. Im out of control.
You are not that bad. My dream barn, which I have drawn my own blue prints out for, is 50 by 80 feet, I dont think i want to figure out how many birds could fit in it. As if it would ever happen though but I can dream! I think I need some of that therapy lol. I sure hope this doesn't get worse with age!
