Partridge showgirl pullet. Not the best crest, but I can work with it. Need to find a really nice crested roo.

M2H-- We had plans of putting an awning up in the tarps place before we got more chickens... now we have to add on to the coop in its place, and will put the awning out on the west side of the coop ... wanted it on the south but not enough room. didn't plan this out very well in the beginning.... but will make do with what we have. BUT now that DH is out of work... we will have to wait and see what happens, we are already talking about selling the horses.
Belive it or not that tarp has been through allot of high winds, lots of heavy snow and just bad weather all around ... it don't look good but it has been great having it up.

so good news :) i might be either going to the K12 program or the excel program so i can get my high school diploma :) im so happy and they both will give me the little extra help i need lol

hope everyone and there animals are staying warm :)

Really nice birds Brad!

I am playing hooky today from work as i have a headache and my sinuses are killing me. Took some sudafed and watching a new series on Netflix called 'Call the Midwife.' It's a period TV series set in the 1950's in east London. Just on the first episode now and it's really good. Going out to check on the ducks again here in few and just to oogle at them!

Wish there was some other way than selling your animals. They are members of your family! :, (

Thanks! It looks like spring is just around the corner! I got my first bantam Cochin egg and two tolbunt from my frizzled hen but both of those were frozen by the time I found them :( Also got 4 Marans eggs today from 7 hens! Now if LF Cochins and legbars could start laying!

I know I'll have frozen eggs tonight too.

I think your Legbars are a little younger than mine, it shouldn't be long now.

I have heard good things about the K12 program. The best is that the cost is paid for by the school system. Doing school at home is great. It takes a bit of motivation to stay on schedule but overall here are some of the fun perks:
no hall pass needed for bathroom breaks, snacking during class is allowed, holding a kitten while watching the lecture ~ no problem, absolutely no bullies, no brown bag lunches, no locker room privacy issues, no need to find a seat on the bus, and if work or chores needs to be done school can be completed ahead of time with no tardy or absences.
Also depending on the program you end up using, the school year just needs 180 school days, so you get to pick the holidays.
