INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Ok, I just wanted to make sure I got everyone who has sent jchny2000, M2H. or myself their info to update the members list, to please verify that I have correctly added your information. If there is anything you would like to add, change, or delete, please let me know. I would much rather fix any issues than have an inaccurate list!

For any other new members, who arent on the members list, but would like to be added, please send me a pm with your info. For any members already on the list, but have changes to make, please let me know of these as well!

The three silkies from you and the two Eng Orps from Kiniska are quickly becoming endeared to me since I've come knocking with live little mealworms! I also bought them some little crickets today (for Valentine's Day), which they found quite exciting! The only unsettling part is that some of the crickets escaped in Lauren's bedroom-- now the chicks' bedroom.

@Mothers2Hens Mine are LF blue splash cochins. I recieved them from a lady who was moving in town. They intergrated amazingly to my established flock and even though are on the bottom of the pecking order they do not get picked on. They usually are always together and both come running to me when I am within sight. Looking at getting some more as soon as possible. If it wasnt for already having a roo I would get one. My sister has one and he is one of the best roos i have seen with flock and humans. Not to metion very nice looking.

Missing you guys, things are nuts again. This is going to be our worst year for my family, MIL had hip replacement.
Dad was in hospital, still waiting for his valve, so he can have the surgery.
My sister had gall bladder out, brother had the heart attack & bypasses.
Now mom had a bad fall, and has to have knee surgery!

I am wupped. I know I have a few eggs, frozen in the boxes. All I am doing is just feeding, watering and driving away.
Really, really ready for this ice and snow to go away.

Am going to try to at least catch up tonight.
Wow, that is a lot for one year. My Dh had outpatient surgery in the summer and some other heath issues but nothing that required an overnight hospital stay. I hope your sister was able to have the belly button cut instead of the older 6 inch belly cut to remove the gall bladder. As for the snow and ice, I'm with you, it needs to go. I was so looking forward to the temps staying above freezing during the days but the forecast is changing yet again.
I like your waterer description. For now we have heated dog bowls, but they are in the coops.

Just set my first batch of eggs in the incubator. During my test week everything worked perfectly. Looks like the same is happening now. 41% humidity, 99.5-99.7 temp, and lots of air flow.

Oh, as far as roos go my Orps have been absolute princes.

Happy Valentines everyone!
Lots of fun and stress with setting eggs. What kind did you set? Also what incubator are you using?
I have been doing some small staggered hatches and getting some hatchery orders in. My basement is becoming full of various brooder boxes. I keep wanting to move all of the chicks outside then snow comes or arctic temps.

Pipd and M2h, I'm glad you posted Pipd's question. I was so busy looking at the lovely pics that I missed it. Yes, I handled him a lot. He was so spoiled and sweet. So, do you know why that would make meaner? I would have thought it would make him used to the affection. We didn't know who was what so we handled them all.

And for all of you with sweet Cochins, I'm so envious. Mine squeal like banshees if I try picking them up or even pet them. They were already a few months old when I brought them home and have never gotten friendlier.

It is my home made incubator. It has red led lighting, three temp and humidity gauges placed in different locations, a computer fan with bat wing blades, an auto egg turner, and an incukit 225. Now let's see if it gets the job done. :)

I showed a male goat in 4-H last year he was supposed to be neutered (lets not go into that) and he was super sweet, gentle and handsome (I know you guys think im crazy lol). After fair he turned into a buck and was very mean and aggressive. He went away :'(
