INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I have an EE that's solid white like that. I got her from DarthLayer she gives me a white egg when she lays.

I love the white ones, she gave me a lt. green egg today and I couldn't close the egg cartoon... lol

Went to Menard's and bought some building supplies for my new pallet coop! I know its a pallet coop but I am making the floor out of new lumber. If the weather is good for me this week I will start the foundation and floor. My oldest chicks are getting almost big enough to move out of the brooder. So I need to get this done quick, fast, and in a hurry:weee I need to get some updated pics of them posted soon. they are looking great. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!
Can't wait to see the process (hope you take pictures along the way!). However, I can't believe you'd settle for the crap materials Menards sells! Lowes is much more superior! ;)

Took a few pics of some chicks. I'm really excited to see how these tolbunt/legbar chicks turn out! I'm pretty sure one us pure tolbunt but time will tell.

No worries, I shop were I can get the best deal and what I want be it lowes, Menards, Home Depot, etc.

Yup, the first couple sets you could hatch. Also could hatch ones similar to these girls

Well, I have some sad news:

Einstein, my lone EE hen, was killed today by either a stray cat or my brother's dog. She just turned a year old this week and started laying again a couple weeks ago.
After all that girl has been through...raccoons, flock illness, below freezing temps, etc. I just can't believe this.

This was her just a few days ago, when she was helping me clean my Jeep.

My DF called me as I was finishing up work and I cried all the way home.

I was going to start trying to incubate her eggs too.

Is anyone from Ellitsville/Bloomington and below (Southern Indiana) incubating at the moment? If Einstein laid an egg today before moving on to chicken heaven, it is most likely fertilized by her now lonely BCM boyfriend. I haven't tested out my incubator yet and if there's a chance to hatch, I would really love to try! I am going to be in the Bloomington area tomorrow, but I will drive anywhere within 2 hours of Dubois County. Thanks!

SallyinIndiana; i know this is late, but CONGRATUALTIONS on the birth of your new baby girl!!!

I am on day 5 of my first ever incubation & hatch. Temps have been pretty consistant until today when I had a temperature spike

i think my daughter was in my "animal room" and might have messed with the knob on the thermostat....maybe i'll get a few quail to hatch, who knows
these are my little EE's i picked up a week ago yesterday. They love being held and immediately fall asleep when i hold them in my hands. i just want to hold them for as long as they'll let me!!! So different than the ones i gave to my sister last year.
i lost one of my BR pullets, she died without any warning, and i making sure i was keeping up with monitoring of the pasty bottom. this is my one survivor and she is two weeks old now
This is my newest addition to my general animal collection lolololol. This is my baby sugar glider named "Sugar Belle." I have only had her for a week and we are still in our bonding process. She is the cutest little thing ever and i love her little face and ears! I can't touch her yet because when they're not bonded yet, they tend to nip. When she gets upset she makes a noise that is comparable to a locust on steroids, and at first it's a little intimidating, so it's going take some getting used to.

Well i hope everyone has a great weekend. I'm looking forward to next weekend when it's supposed to be really nice!!! Have a great week!!
