INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Yeah, I got rid of Koda's swing a long time ago because he hated it. His only quiet toy that he really cared for was his Shooting Stars wooden block and leather lace toy. I can't remember what his favorite bell toy was called, but it has natural wood branches on a chain with a bell at the end. He loves that thing, best investment for him! What can I say, he's dingy for bells.

And I can understand why you wouldn't want to own your own flock if you're a poultry vet, with all the stuff you'd be exposed to. No way I could do it, either! Although I also get a little queasy with needles and blood and guts and stuff, so...

When I was setting up her cage, I had her in a temporary cage. It has a built in swing and I sat her on it. Not a good idea, she was swinging all over the place and couldn't stop it lol. I had also bought one earlier that day. It makes sense, poultry can get so many diseases and the can be transferred easily. Most backyard flock keepers probably wouldn't mind if you had your own flock as it probably wouldn't cross their mind that you could bring diseases from your flock to theirs while treating them. Hatcheries wouldn't let you step foot near their chickens if they knew you had your own flock, far too much money invested. And they would be who you would make your most money from. I think it could be worked around, but one lazy day of careless "hygine" and you could infect your flock or others flock's. I am sure it is better that they don't allow you to own your own flock. I am not squeamish, so that wouldn't of bothered me.
Lol she's a pathological liar so she will just make stuff up if she thinks it makes her sound better. I blocked her again, I really really hate having people blocked because I feel like most things can be resolved. But this is just too much after everything else. (it's a loooong story but she has hurt multiple people along the way with this relationship and pregnancy) and who uses someone else's razor? Especially if you don't know them? ? Argh.

Sorry this is way way off topic it's just frustrating. Hopefully blocking her and leaving the group for now will work.
Well then she probably already thinks she is a genius lol.

now that is just gross

. Lol watch the number of sunflower seeds. Not the healthiest for them. I'd highly recommend trying to get it on a pelleted diet and supplement with mixed seeds and fresh foods. Also watch petco as it seems they are constantly clearancing out bird toys.
Thanks. Lol She isn't loud. I know, there are a few that came mixed in her feed. I got a diet specially formulated for conures. It is a mix of lot of fruits an veggies, nuts, and lots of seeds. The company is Higgins Premium Pet Foods. I only got a 3 lb bag though ($10!). I guess it is probably time to give Petco another try

Yep! I was driving, alone in the car. The lady who crossed in front of me was pregnant, so the took her to the hospital as a precaution, but she seemed fine, and her passenger was fine. They're lucky I was paying attention. I was able to swerve enough to hit the back of her minivan instead of the front.

But I'm very sad for my car. I loved that car.
Glad everyone is ok!

Do you sell the fiber and if so how much would you ask for it? I've been thinking of learning how to spin and need some natural fiber to do so. I know it would need washed and carded first as well, but I'd be willing to do that. Just let me know, thanks!!

I think you can card or comb depending on the type of yarn you want

Morning everyone! Thought I'd share what I found in one of my nest boxes this weekend.

I have no idea who laid it but it's cute!

Got the last of my birds moved outside last night, the house is MUCH quieter now! Coop is a little crowded, which is really more of an inconvenience for me but it'll work for now.

Today is our shearing day.  Their coats are quite thick this year.  I'm anxious to get our fiber processed into yarn, although I'm not holding my breath to wait for it to happen.  I still have last year's fleece waiting to be processed too!  Do you process your own fiber or do you send it off somewhere?

Have fun with that, next you can help us trim our 4H goats :)

Love the pics..as usual! Those Cochins though! Wow! Just beautiful! Adorable little EE bantam too!

Thanks! I love the cochins too. :)
