INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I must say I'm having a really hard time selling this guy! I really don't need any more projects, but think I will be looking for some eggs, chicks, or hens for him.

You've graduated from chicken math up to chicken calculus by now. Lol.

Lets not talk about chicken math. I nearly had a heart attack when I did a head count the other day.

They are all so cute and It's so hard to decide who to keep! I will have some silkies available later this summer though, if anyone is interested. They will be unsexed or sold in pairs as pets or breeders only.
DH wants me at a 50 chook limit. LOL

Haha. Yea might be more calc 2 or 3 by now! I was looking in the brooders and I had forgot I have lemon/buff barred bantam Cochins growing out too! Looks like I have a trio and my buff columbian hen. So go start to that project.

Kelly, what bantam Cochins do you have again?

 I though I was bad passing 40 hens! Then again, I'm not actively breeding and hatching my birds, so maybe that is still bad...

Speaking of, I candled the eggs under Margie again tonight. I'm freaking out, people! I don't see anything in any of the eggs. :/ This is day 11. I tried to get pictures, but that's pretty much impossible. But anyway, I'm wondering at what point I should just pull the eggs and move her to the broody buster. She's getting awfully thin and I'd rather break her sooner if there's no chance of her hatching anything. Is there a risk of one of these eggs rotting or exploding under her? I figure if that was a huge risk, almost no eggs would hatch, but I'm anxious and unsure and everything else an eggspecting parent should be.

Here are a very of the chicks I have right now. Some aren't really chicks anymore and hopefully be put out in the garage tomorrow or Friday.
My most recent hatch, silkies and showgirl.

And lastly one of my non chicken bird. These guys are surprisingly docile. I need to get them in their eon pen though as I'm afraid of them becoming cannibalistic which is common with game birds kept too cramped.

Lots of cute chicks in the bunch. I can't wait for the tolbunt to hatch.

Just incase anyone is interested...........I am finally letting go of a few chickens lol

I have a Blue Ameraucana Cockerel for sale. He is from Paul Smith lines. Hasn't showed any signs of aggression. Started crowing a week or two ago. He will be beautiful when matured and has potential to be SQ. 3 and a half months old. I am asking $15 for him.

(BTW I also listed him on CL and the whole time I was doing that, I couldn't help but think there would be someone come along and read it thinking I am crazy because I said this chicken came from so and so lines lol)

I also have a Barred Rock Rooster I am wanting to get rid of. He likes to peck at fingers at feeding time, but has never hurt me. He always acts starved at feeding time lol. He also loves zippers. If I had to guess he is nearing two years old. He is HQ. $5 for him.

Located in Bluffton. PM if you are interested

Eggs will definitely get rotten under her. I had one under my broody that either exploded or got broken and it was very, very rotten. You really do not want that to happen.

I really don't have much experience candling eggs, as I have only done it a couple of times. But when we did on day 14, we could definitely see veining and movement, so I am thinking that on day 11 you should be able to see something. But like I said I don't have a lot of experience so maybe someone with more experience will answer you.
