THANKS leahs mom! I thought about electric portable fence netting.i use a solar charger on my horses pasture.love it!! On a somber note finshed the coop and run this morning, and moved the older girls out.hubby hung the heat lamp with chain, and wire and zip ties. I am so sad thou, they grew so fast!the house seems so quiet and empty with just the young girls brooder. I told my younger gals they cant grow anymore and they have to stay that size forever. Lol i have checked on the older girls often, they are eating and drinking and pooping and seem to love all the space,i just am sad hate to think how i am gonna be when the kids go to college
I was looking at that portable netting to make a run for my girls. Looks like a good idea. Although right now I think I am going to have to go a cheaper route than that for now.
Vicki~ i went away for the weekend, but heading home early in a couple hours since our youngest decided to get a 104.4 fever and stomache virus. So at about 6 this evening hoping to post that my eggs hatched! Can't wait to see them and post pics.
Thanks, Leah's Mom, for your post on the electric netting. I've been looking at it but really wanted to hear from someone who uses it rather than just from the company blurb. Very helpful!
Spent some time working on our movable coop for the meat birds. Now that it is not a hoop style coop it is too heavy to move easily without wheels. Any recommendations for getting good but cheap wheels?
Been very busy building the coop. Wow, the chicks are growing so fast! 2.5 weeks old. Sorry for not responding to everyone's chatter on this thread. We put a cedar shake roof on the coop today, my back aches lol.
