INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I just don't understand. I went in the living room to watch a movie. I just came back in my room to find a dead chick and one that just died laying on my chest as I am typing this. They were perfectly healthy happy little chicks. How did they just die in the matter of maybe 2 hours? They ha been sleeping a LOT today, except for the one that is still alive, which hasn't shut up all day, as silly a it sounds I almost wonder if it knew they were dying. Now that I am all upset and have a headache I will not be able to go to sleep for a few more hours and I also have a little polish chick that doesn't understand where it's buddies went. I think I will get craigslist to find a few chicks so it isn't alone

My australorp went above and beyond today. A little over 5 oz! She only lays every other day, but they are big! This is the biggest I think so far.

Thanks. I had it 75 on the cool side. And they were on the warm side, but I don't think they were cold because they weren't huddled up or shivering. All have been walking in hawks a little, but my vitamins and electrolytes are in the trunk of my dads car and I was going to get them tomorrow. Now I wish I would have got them earlier even though I don't think that is why they died I still feel terrible about it.

These are so beautiful! What kind of tomatoes are they?

Looks yummy!  Is it an heirloom variety?

Yes, heirloom ones. These tomatoes are Costoluto Genovese and this is the first year we've tried them. (http://www.rareseeds.com/costoluto-genovese-tomato/)
We love the Paul Robeson tomatoes and have found these to be a bit sweeter than them. They have been fruitful plants his year. Not sure they're the right fruits to blanch, peel, and can though. More for fresh eating.

OOOooo.  I forgot about pesto.

I'd probably be the only one who used it.  I think I'd rather line nests with the basil.

How could you forget about pesto? Pesto is one of God's gifts to the world. Pesto pasta, pesto chicken, pesto pizza, pesto quiche, pesto BLT, pesto veggie dip, pesto salmon, pesto panini, pesto lasagna....:drool
