I have room for a few more hens, or turkeys if anyone out there needs to lighten their load!

Heavenly Springs is a farm of one of our members. They are on FB and have a few for sale.

Then @bradselig is way north of you but also has some for sale. I'm seriously considering one of his pairs. So if you buy it, my choice is easily made and it keeps the chicken math down.

@Leahs Mom The PI is back over here. I think this time the goats were eating some of the plants where ever they are and later when I was pushing the goats into the shed for the night it got on my arms and somehow a bit on my face. I've asked around and I can't use jewel weed or take predi.... for a bit longer as they tend to dry up milk glands as well as mucas glands. Any other recommendations? I think I saw you post about applying alcohol in another thread.

I've heard that the juice/sap from Stinging Nettle is supposed to help a lot, but I've never tried it.

Lately I've had really excellent results applying tea tree oil (blended into coconut oil) on mosquito bites. That would be worth a try.

It is amazing how horrible this stuff is. Life goes on and all but it is more than a small bother yet not enough for me to get to the doc yet. DH got some on his legs and he went straight for the doctor. I'm hoping next year I don't react to it. I did not get any reaction before this summer so maybe next year I won't get one either.

It looks young, how old is it? We had duckling in our basement this past spring but I won't do it again. Even if I have to wait and wait for eggs, those ducklings will be brooded outside in the summer.

Someone mentioned here a while back about a kind of duck that is the super-ultimate feed-to-meat bird, and I can't remember what kind it was. Sound familiar to anyone?

We still have a lot of green tomatoes. Powdery Mildew annihilated our zucchini. The basil went totally insane; I finally just let it go to seed because I have more in the freezer than I'll use in a year.

Will chickens eat basil? Can I tear some up and put it in the coop for a happy smell?

Did you make pesto with your basil?

FINALLY!!!! We're getting tomatoes every day!!! Woo-hoo!!

One of the things I'm going differently for the garden next year is start my tomato seedlings sooner. I'm also going to plant my corn plants farther apart from each other, and run a support rope next to the stalks. For the past 2 years, we've had our corn fall over under heavy winds.

Looks yummy! Is it an heirloom variety?

OOOooo. I forgot about pesto.

I'd probably be the only one who used it. I think I'd rather line nests with the basil.

Ya it's a young'in, the momma (first timer) didn't want it after it hatched. That's the only reason it's in the house now. Not to much longer and it will be outside.
