I have a question for you all:
I recently had a polish chick that hatched. It pipped and zipped rather quickly, but after that just stopped. After being zipped around 24 hours, even though it kept trying to come out, I decided to help it a bit.
Everything is going great, except for one of its eyes is rather low. On one side is a normal eye in the right spot, and on the other side is an eye that is closer to the beak and kind of bulged out a bit. The other chicks from this pairing have come out normal. Any clues?

It happens. Nature chooses the ones that thrive, and not so much.
I help chicks that are stuck and watch them. Use th vitamins to boost and hopefully it will thrive.

It has only been fully hatched for a few hours- maybe 6-7?

Can you post photos? Could be caused genetically, or from the way the chick was positioned during incubation. If it is from a skull deformity, it might get better or it might not. Time will tell. As long as it can see out of both eyes, it could do fine as a layer if female, but I would not breed it unless it completely resolves in a few weeks.

He is a Juliana pig and should stay pretty small as long as we do not over feed him.

I'm not sure what the punishment is for chicken theft/chicken napping? But I have two victims in mind. Was over to kabhyper1 lastnight for another fun evening, when she brought out two of her bantam Cochins that we love!! Her GL and BR. I'm going to have to plan my chicken napping very well or she might notice them missing .

lol, no need to resort to chicken snatching! I still am growing out a pair of barred bantams for you if you still want them. The "female" just isn't looking much like a female any more. I'll post pics in the next couple days.

Looked at them again when I was feeding this morning. One is definitely a room the other I'm still on the fence, but think its a pullet. I'll head back out and get pics because I know I'll forget if i don't do them now. Lol

Only thing that makes me think cockerel on one with smaller crest is because of how red her wattles are. But I'm still thinking its a pullet.
