INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Only thing that makes me think cockerel on one with smaller crest is because of how red her wattles are. But I'm still thinking its a pullet.

Awesome chicks Brad, can't wait now you got me wandering. But it does look pullet in the pic. But I'm no expert at sexing chickens unless I see an egg fall out lol. When do you think they will be ready? And the other Cochins are awesome looking also!

Can you post photos? Could be caused genetically, or from the way the chick was positioned during incubation. If it is from a skull deformity, it might get better or it might not. Time will tell. As long as it can see out of both eyes, it could do fine as a layer if female, but I would not breed it unless it completely resolves in a few weeks.

He does usually have it open. At first I noticed he was a but uncoordinated, more so than most chicks, but now that's gone and he gets around fine.

I got hit hard by the chicken math this weekend.

I had been wanting some Cochin's really bad, and I finally found me some. Got 6chicks, plus 5 frizzle chicks, plus a pair of black cochin bantams that are 1 year old.

I also got 11 silver seabright chicks and 4 golden polish chicks, and I have 8 that just hatched in the incubator yesterday and this morning ( these are feather-legged mixes) with another 5 or 6 still to hatch,

. Gotta go clean some coops and do a little change a roo to make everyone more comfy. I will post pics of the newbies a little later.

@raisinemright Had you not posted your master plans for bird napping my kiddos on here, you might have had half a chance of getting it past me lol. Now I'm on the watch, oh and I have the security cameras too lol.The kids did look pretty cute holding them last night. I'll have to get some gold laced breeding going so we can make more of them.

Good morning all!
I'm not sure what the punishment is for chicken theft/chicken napping? But I have two victims in mind. Was over to kabhyper1 lastnight for another fun evening, when she brought out two of her bantam Cochins that we love!! Her GL and BR. I'm going to have to plan my chicken napping very well or she might notice them missing

Just thought I would show this cutness from the other day when I evicted the 2 month olds out of a grow out pen into the main coop. This pair of Cochins was hiding from the big bully birds.

I have to say I was very very impressed with the Janet and her family have reused many items to make their several different coops and the way the birds all free range together. The geese came by to wish us well right as we were leaving.
@jchny2000
I have a question. I know you have different "houses" for your chickens. And they are free ranging together. Are all your houses open to a main area that they all run in? Do they all just go back to their respective houses at night? How do they know what house to go to?
