INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

@raisinemright Had you not posted your master plans for bird napping my kiddos on here, you might have had half a chance of getting it past me lol. Now I'm on the watch, oh and I have the security cameras too lol.The kids did look pretty cute holding them last night. I'll have to get some gold laced breeding going so we can make more of them.

Yes GL bantam Cochins are AWESOME! Hopefully be picking my Barred pair up from Brad this week sometime! And I'm pretty sure I can get your set past you easily enough ;)

OKAY! I'm all caught up, thank goodness!

Mother2Hens; that story about the kitty brothers is adorable. Their very pretty lil' guys too!

Speaking of kittens I should get some pictures of our family of four. The three kittens are learning that the world isn't restricted to the garage. Lol. Just this morning momma cat had to attack the dog because lil' kitty number 2 {Tentatively called Dots} got a little too close. Hopefully the claws to nose treatment will have broken Bruno of his bad habit of barking and running at the felines. Crossing fingers :fl.

Okay I've got a quick question for you smart people. I need something to put in the coop and run. My dad thinks we should use sand. I'm fine with that, it seems reasonable but are there any dangers/issues with using sand? It would be good because it wouldn't need changing every three weeks or whatever like stray/bedding/wood chips because it won't get so wet and soggy. I'm just wondering if there are any issues with using sand? Like could it cause issues if ingested or inhaled by the birds? Or would the grains be too big to worry about that? Just wondering.

The pigs and ducks and chicks are so cute! Speaking of such farm animals. Our house is going to become a full fledged farm soon. My dad and grandpa want feeder calves. My sister wants rabbits and my youngest sister wants goats. And I've got chickens. My mother is stuck raising cats since aside from our single dog, the four cats are the only creatures unclaimed, since the dog is family/my dads. Lol.

Sunny will be mine mewhaaaaa! Deal Brad, what's the going rate for black market hot birds lol!!

Oh my! We have an early achiever here. My three month and one day old Lavender Orp cockerel belted out his first crow this morning. This is not the kind of "early achieving" we aspire to here, but it will now give me a chance to try out my homemade no-crow (really a less-crow) collar soon.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday (ha ha, weekends are for getting caught up on all things poultry!).

I'm looking for any great recipes for a duck. It is on the small side and past 20 weeks old. It was cute but I'm just getting too many duck eggs. I'm hoping I like the meat so DH can clean a few more. A big thanks to @racinchickins for hosting the processing. I'm sure the plucker was worth its weight in gold for the duck.
