INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I'm looking for any great recipes for a duck. It is on the small side and past 20 weeks old. It was cute but I'm just getting too many duck eggs. I'm hoping I like the meat so DH can clean a few more. A big thanks to @racinchickins for hosting the processing. I'm sure the plucker was worth its weight in gold for the duck.

Maple Leaf Farms, the biggest commercial duck producer in Indiana, posts recipes on its website. I am a freak for duck breast, usually with a fruit-based compote on the side. I also love duck confit, which I believe is made from the dark meat (but since it's shredded, I'm not positive).

It looks a little swollen with some drainage coming from that left eye.  Is that the case?

I haven't noticed drainage. He was still wet looking from hatching here.
The part that looks swollen is his actual eyeball. His upper eyelid doesn't move, it's above the eye. His lower eyelid is the only one that moves. When his eye is open it looks almost normal, just not in the right spot. I will try to get pictures of him with it open.

I have a family member that lost several of their flock to a predator. I thought I recently saw @sallyinindiana had some pullets she was looking to rehome...? Anyone nearby needing to be rid of a handful of hens/pullets?

I have added Buff Black and Blue Orpington's to my flock this year. I understand the Blue black and splash ratio's but was wondering what Black on Buff and Blue on Buff ratios would be? or what color mix to expect.
I heard some used Black on buff to deepen the buff color when breeding a lighter colored hen.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

My momma hen did well. She hatched 8 of the 10 eggs she had left. She had smashed 2 eggs earlier. Of the 2 that didn't hatch one never developed and the others abdomen didn't close.
