Love it! My 60 + chickens wouldn't fit in there though.![]()
We are putting everyone in our pole barn this winter to save time for chores and help with frostbite. It was quite the undertaking lol. I need to learn to stop hatching......Thank you! Yeah, Probably need to be a bit bigger. Haha
They have their own chandelier???!!! I agree -- spoiled rotten!!Hi there, we're Shane and Courtney from Indianapolis. We got our 8 sweet girls in June and are nearly finished with our coop. We were excited to see an Indiana thread here! Here's a pic of some of our girls and our coop. We have 4 Ameraucanas (Vivienne, Mona, Opal, & Harriet), 2 Barred Rocks (Maude & Myrtle), a Buff Orpington (Agnes), and Ginger our Rhode Island Red.

We are putting our breeders in the pole barn. Or at least that is the plan. We still need to finish cleaning it out. Quite a task as my DH saves everything.
For example our pool came with a funny shower tent that looked like the beach tents of olden days. But it is too windy here to use it. He has had that tent in a box for over 7 years. It is free to a good home, if anyone wants it. It hooks up to a hose so no hot water after you get out of the pool. And it is a TENT not a sturdy place for a shower.
Oh, I am so sorry to hear. Glad the others are active! broody poopThank you @jchny2000 for the suggestion but the little duckling with the eye problem did not make it through the night. All the other 5 are crazy active today. The other eggs still have not hatched. I am going to give them till Wednesday or she decides to give up and check them then. She is not getting up at all, I had to clean broody poop out from behind her.Yuck!!! She does have food and water within reach and is teaching the ducklings how to eat and drink, so cute.![]()
[COLOR=900000]Update on Rosie, she spent the night in the coop last night and is doing well as of this morning, except she really hates her sweater and refuses to walk properly with it on.Some of the big girls started beating up on her because of how she's acting, so I had to separate her from most of the flock. She and the silver Sebrights are separate, with Violet the Bielefelder and Poppy the Legbar. I decided to put Vi over there because she has a hard time fitting in with the flock, but the Sebrights started pushing her around as well, so Poppy went in for moral support. I really love Poppy's temperament. She stopped hanging out with the little girls a while ago, but she doesn't push them around or anything, and she always seems to stick with Violet when Vi is getting picked on.
Everything seems to be working out with this setup, so hopefully now little Rosie can regrow her feathers in peace.
