INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Mother2Hens- Thanks! I am actually studying nursing here at the University of Evansville. And I agree with you, it was a gorgeous day! I've heard of the hydroplane races that used to be here on the river, but the only races I've seen have been in Madison. My family had a lot of fun going to them a couple times, but I don't think it's ever going to be as fun as it used to be. My brother keeps asking about the chickens and I think he's convinced that it won't happen because we have to wait for the new house to be ready. But I'm continuing to gather up all the info I can from here in between my assignments and tests! The semester is coming to an end and summer cannot come fast enough!

Well I've lost 3 now. The guinnies aren't looking good! Now they are all crying. Heat is good. I've done everything the same as the last 27!! I've been looking up everything I can think of! Giving them fresh mash. It's the same food as all of them get. Ideas?

so how can you get rid of pasty butt? my daughter has 1 of her five that is really bad. my DW soakes it and takes it off and that has always seemed to fix the problem but it keeps hapening with this one. any help is appreciated.

I was experiencing some pasty butt with a few chicks. What I found worked best was apple cider vinegar in the water. It pretty much was eliminated for me the next day after adding ACV.

I put some powdered milk on their feed and put a couple spoons of cottage cheese on a plate, let it get room temp then sprinkled chick starter on it. Cleared them right up in 2-3 days.

Yet again, a few days online and the thread explodes... 9 pages to scroll through!

Welcome to the thread Freeflyin!

AATH and Animallover - I live right at 21st and Post... so I guess another neighbour huh! Small world.

Bloonskiller911 - I am still have issues with pasty butt on one chick. Driving me crazy. Have been putting the ACV in the water, which has helped a little, but he is still requiring a butt wash daily. Which is an improvement over the four times a day he was getting. All of the chicks I picked up from TSC have suffered pasty butt.

EDIT- Appranently Animallover lives no where near me... Thats what I get for reading but noy paying attention. They both live in areas that are right by me... just wrong city.. DOH
