INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

these are seramas. smaller then bantam. a breed all their own but to answer your question, yes, you can get just about any breed today in bantam size. the fact is though there are very few "true " bantam breeds . I dont know what they are , maybe some one can enlighten us.

D'anver is a true bantam breed and one of the oldest. I have some but I am getting out of them and concentrating more on long tails.

I havent had my bator going all yr. that has to be a record. LOL i did find a little blue silkie. i will get it tomorrow. this was a first for me on shipped eggs. I got a serama pr. and 9 eggs for 50 dollars. that included shipping. breeder is also a judge for surrounding areas. he has great stock. the hen is size A and the male will be size B.

Meet Adam and Eve. Do you know of someone local with these beauties ?

Those are very nice looking chickens. I don't think you should paint them with Valsapr. Sherwin-Williams sticks better on the feathers.

Also, a semi-gloss will clean up better than a matte finish.

3 seramas shipped 2 turned wrong and drown. I have piped the last one but it seems very weak. IF it happens to hatch i am ISO of a couple small bantams close to me in madison. If i cant find any do you guys have suggestions for this one ? I think thats gonna be a big if. I would need something tiny and easy going I would guess because these are size A. my first serama hatching too..

I am so sorry, thats heartbreaking.

Totally agree! If I cant pick them up then I doubt I will get many more shipped. I have had good luck with Trey's, and David in KY. Had a lot of scrambled, messy smashed boxes too! My incubator is off as of today, kinda sad

. I just don't want to worry over chicks during the winter again.
Quote: Have to agree with that, my OEGB hens do a great job brooding. I have to take eggs from them tho, they continue to lay while brooding, weirdest thing I ever saw.

Quote: They are gorgeous! I don't know anyone that does here in Indiana, just a lady in california.
