I talked to you before about your roo and you scared me out of him. LOL (the bruise) and i am 2 hrs. from you but i would love to get my hands on the others.   I have a swedish roo i think they would make pretty babies. I have 2 polish hens and they NEVER lay. no, I have 3.

Of the three polish I've got, I had a total of 4 eggs all summer. Was pretty frustrated!

same here ! I was asking someone today that raises them if they might know why. no answer as of yet. I have 3 hens and got 4 eggs, just like you. think they are on strike ?

One of them had a couple health issues so she gets a by, the other two were/are Pullets but are past old enough to lay...I was thinking maybe they are just "lonely"? I didn't have a Roo with them.

I have a roo with mine but they dont have anything to do with him and he dont try either. I suspected she may be eating them but if so, she dont bother the brown ones

What age are they? I have some pullets that should normally start laying between 20 and 26 weeks who have still not layed at 28. Not Polish.

I've been told by several sources that the pullets that hatch toward the end of May often don't start lay until the days begin to get longer again. I've never had this late of lay before in the breed and I hadn't heard that they sometimes wait until the longer days when hatched that late in the spring. But that was confirmed several times over and not just for one breed in particular. Folks that had several different breeds tell me the same.

Thank you for the info but these girls are over 10 mo old. The one with health issues I'm not sure about age but if I remember correctly Racin said she was nearly a year old.

My OEs went to a new home today and I think it made this adorable little girl very happy ... which in turn, made me very happy :)

FREE
Hi everyone! I keep being interrupted by family needs and work. Don't these people realize that I have a hobby! My chickens are doing well. I am going to bed but noticed on Craigslist indy free there is a free kid's playhouse (coop) and another post has a free kid's turtle sandbox w/lid. I still have the turtle sandbox that my kids used years ago, and it makes a great dust bath when it's filled with dirt.
