INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I must say GQF has great customer service. I called them today about the damage. The corner of the door was crushed as well as the big dent in it. The back panel also was damaged but i wasn't concerned about that due to it being up against the wall and not noticeable. They are going to be sending me replacements for both the door and the back panel!

I'd be concerned about functional damage. Why not just replace the entire thing if both front and back are banged up?

So..the Easter HAL is right around the corner and I have no eggs! Lol! Well I mean I have eggs but no pure bred to set. I slipped the Cochin eggs under my broody that's already hatching a couple silkie eggs but I'm going to pull those and do lockdown in a hatcher so she'll continue to set on the Cochin I just got in the mail Monday.

Anyways, was curious if anyone between Btown and Indy has any good eggs I could buy?

they are made from a plastic material. It almost seems like a hard foam board. It doesn't look like it would take much to damage them. I've had it set up since late last night and its running beautifully. The damage is purely cosmetic.

I'm going to be listing some sumatra hatching eggs for the chicken fest auctions. I don't ship or else I would offer the on the BST area. The eggs I have are a blue roo over a set of blue hens.

By putting a nest together, do you mean that the female turkey will sit on the eggs? Do you make a broody area for a turkey? Just curious.
Turkeys are a little different than chickens. If they lay an egg and you take it from the nest, they will start looking around for a different place to lay. You can combat this by keeping a fake egg or two where they are laying. As long as there are some type of eggs there, they will keep laying in that spot. I This year the first egg was laid out in the open, as I had nothing set up for them. So I set up a nesting area (a piece of plywood leaning against the wall with hay under it). The second egg was laid there. I put a wooden egg in there, and am hoping it is enough to keep her laying in one spot. f I let her gather enough eggs, she would go broody on them, my hens last year (all 3) eventually went broody with just the wooden eggs in the nest. Then, getting their eggs was a real challenge......I eventually let them hatch out 5 and they raised 3 to adulthood.

Last year, during free range time it was always a challenge to find the turkey eggs. But once I found where they were laying, I just put two wooden eggs there, and they laid in the same spot the rest of summer and fall. I got my last egg from them in November.

2 out of 3 turkeys are out. A few sumatra chicks are out and so far more than half are blue. The turkeys look so big next to the sumatras. The sumatra chicks are the smallest breed I hatch and the turkeys are the largest baby bird I hatch.

The Chicken Fest 2015 first hatching egg auction is up and open for bids on the FB page.

And t-shirt orders need to be in soon MARCH 7th is the deadline.

The eggs are gorgeous!

Welcome!  How many and what are you getting?

Fingers crossed that they all remain okay!
I am getting 4-5 cross bred RIR/ white rock hens and a rooster of the same kind. I hope they make it too! BUT my land is a island way out here in farm land and there are zero predators or animals at all for that matter. When we moved out here we threw old bread in the yard and it just molded. Lol no one came to eat it!
