INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I feed mine free choice, meaning I put out more than they'll eat between feedings.

You can keep the feed in the bucket indefinitely . What I do is just add more feed and water to the bucket now and then as needed, and keep the batch going forever.

Thanks. So do you feed them more than once a day? I just gave it to them this morning. They gobbled it up like it was a treat. But, I did not put the dry food away in case they are still hungry. We have a rat living in the coop and I want to remove the food so that he/she can starve. We have set multiple traps but the bugger keeps stealing the food off the trap.

Strangest call to date was someone asking if I sold donkeys.  After a few questions I let them talk to my 3 yr old who happened to be asking for the phone at just hte right time.

Normally though if I don't have what the person wants, I'll give them a name and number of a person that might have it.

I could use a peacock and peahen breeders name and number.

I have breeding Peas but have yet to get an egg, I expect them soon and will be setting every one of them! ;) I can't keep them all though soo...you can send them my way and I will talk with them. Also check with @pbirdhaven.

I fill their trough in the morning before I leave for work, and top it up in the afternoon when I get home. There's usually just a little left in the morning when I go to refill it. It took me some trial and error to figure out how many scoops my flock will eat in a day. I would say start off with more than you think they need, and adjust every few days or so.

I have a question regarding my rooster. Almost every one of my 10 hens have bald red butts. I have looked for parasites, and anything else I can think of. They have been like this for awhile so, I'm thinking this could be from my roo being a little [or a lot] aggressive. Is this at all possible?
