INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

its just about to come out....lol...you can see a bit of it...;)

Its almost just like when the midwife says she can see the head crowning on some of the birthing videos.  One really has to look close and know what to look for.

Oh come on guys!! I can see it but where's the pic of the actual layed Egg!!

I actually have two Jubilee roos that are almost identical--only a slight difference in height! I like my photo bomber hen, too. Laughed when I first saw the photo!

I still have four chicks available! Surely somebody would like to add some flock art to their farm.

I have a question regarding my rooster. Almost every one of my 10 hens have bald red butts. I have looked for parasites, and anything else I can think of. They have been like this for awhile so, I'm thinking this could be from my roo being a little [or a lot] aggressive. Is this at all possible?

Yep, it's possible. I'd say that he's really going at it hard to have ALL of them with bare bottoms. Have you taken care of his spurs? Put saddles on your hens (long ones to help protect them back that far)? I have none that are bare, but do have a couple of hens with no or few tail feathers left. They all wear saddles.

@Faraday40 I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Having met you and your husband and kids makes it even harder for me to read about the awful time you have had over the last week or so. At least you have them, and the many people who obviously loved your mother, to help you, your sister, and your dad try to go on in a world without her. I know the people from this thread who have seen your posts or had the pleasure to meet you are sincere in their prayers and thoughts for all of you.

Okay, peeps, gotta question...

Has anyone ever seen a duck hen with a collar before?

Pardon the picture; it's old and, and she won't sit still. Her name is Rorschach after the ink blot tests because her feet were/are mottled. She's had the collar since she started feathering out. Initially, I thought this meant she would be a he, and then the black bits to the feathers on her head started shining green in the right light around 16wks. The collar has never been completed--feathers in it come and go (mostly as they get pulled out by the drakes) but it's never come in thick or all the way around. She never got a drake curl, but her quack is hoarser and quieter (more like a wheezy cough, but not as bad as a drake's) than my other ducks and she's larger than my other Rouen hen (who may just be small). she's almost as big as the Pekin drakes, who are probably over ten pounds. She's never tried to hump another duck. Because my other sucks started laying about the same time we expected her to start laying, I don't know if she's ever laid an egg but may have to start keeping track. I can't find any other mention online concerning a duck with a collar, however. Regardless, she's still a welcome pet (even though she's too shy to be pet; she's one for the first birds we ever brought home, and she's just special like that)

I'd be considering acquiring a different rooster if he can't be chivalrous with his ladies (and balding TEN of them simultaneously? Is he Big Jim Slade or something?)

Darn picture didn't come thru with that msg.

Wow! Quite the project! Looking good girl!

Thank you EllymayRans it's an 8x12 garden shed kit. Of course being the person I am I had to make it difficult and redesign it. It was supposed to be a simply slant roof shed, I redesigned it by adding a barn style roof and added a loft for storage, took off one of the doors so it's a single door now AND added windows n vinyl shutters. It's really nice I'll take pics of inside soon. Again thanks for th compliments.
