Just curious if any of you have seen this or might know what is going. I have a Salmon Favorolled that has odd looking eyes. They didn't use to be like this, but noticed it was different and just wanted to make sure everything is good. I looked online and couldn't find anything anywhere. Both her and her pen mates have been tested and are clean. Her pen mate's eyes don't look like this (you will see the other chicken, a mille fleur d'uccle, in the pictures too). Excuse the dirty beard, she is a messy eater.

im curious on when you say they were tested and they came back clean....cause most people that are npip certified only test the bare minimum with typhloid/pallorium...excuse the spelling i was no spelling bee champ....but there are many other levels so to speak of testing for....mg, ai....which is hitting the midwest hard....and each level has a nice price tag to go with it...the breeder from my quail out in california is t/p clean and ai clean....and he said just for the ai test was 600 bucks from a vet...was curious...on how clean the birds are test wise...that maybe could narrow it down a bit...just thru readings....mareks...is palish combs, droppy wings, puffy / tired eye look...wobbly as like they were drunk....or you spun them in circles....i had a bird in the brooder last month....that would lower its wings and kindof hang out so to speak..i took no chance and it was culled....i have over 300 birds now....and first signs of anything or possible anything...they are culled...mean thing but i cant take any chances..and have no time for the weak birds...however you dont really find mareks in older birds..but you can see a paleness to the comb compared to the other one....is the bird sneezing...standing with its eyes closed...bloody dropings....last time it was wormed...?..alot of stuff to know to narrow it down...

Hey guys, if anyone is not getting email notifications from BYC, I fixed mine.
I get several messages a day from fellow BYC'ers and really missed the notices! Started sometime last week.

For PC users...Go to your profile, upper right side hover over your user name. Choose preferences, and just hit save at the bottom. I did not change anything. Assuming they had a privacy update, and it caused notifications to stop working until it was saved again..

They tested clean for typhoid/ pullurom. I test all my birds, but don't have my flock certified just because there is paper work and everything you to go through and to me it isn't worth it. The only reason I test is to e able to show and peace of mind. I have seen birds with Mareks and I highly doubt tht is what is going on here. She does have the pale comb and the tired eyes but other than that she is a perfectly happy healthy bird. Sometimes she does Stand around with her eyes closed but not a lot. I also dot think it is mg because I have dealt with birds I had in quarentine that had it and it doesn't match up. I am wondering if it is a temporarily symptom because she doesn't really have anything wrong with her just the pale looking comb and tired eyes. She was in te house all winter an was just recently taken back outside. Before I took her in he comb looked better, so I don't know if not being outside for a few months had anything to do with. She doesn't have bloody stool and no worms that I have seen. I won't worn my birds until I see worms. None of them have ever had then so now have ever been wormed. She is around. Year and a half old an has never laid an egg. I will read the articles you posted later, thank you.

Maybe it's just some irritation causing a little swelling in her eye lids. You said she's been inside, could be something environmental isn't sitting with her right. I have a Marans hen whos eyes look like that. She's perfectly healthy. I actually think it could be an age thing. Some of my older girls eye are starting to look like that. My silkie with cataracts lids are like that. If her pupils change shape, then ocular mareks could be what it is, but I doubt it. I'm sure she's fine.
