That's right lady's and gentlemen, I fired it up once again!!
I'll be setting around 3 dozen Bresse eggs from the awesome racinchickins. The eggs should arrive tomorrow and after the proper resting time I'll be putting them in the (easy bake chick oven)!

I think I need an intervention. I have a serious chicken addiction. We went to get 4 silkies, 4 polish, and 4 buckeyes. That's 12 right? Nope it is 19 in the chicken math world! 4 silkies, a sizzle, only 3 polish, a show girl i fell in love with, a turken and 9 Buckeyes. See I remembered while i was there that @jchny2000 had a friend who lost all her buckeyes. Since I couldn't get ahold of her of course I HAD to bring some home just in case. Well she already got what she needed and DH wants to keep them all, depending on how many roos we end up with that need to be rehomed. We both are very good at chicken math. I'll get some pics later this week I hope.
if you need another coop, this is an awesome deal.

But I wouldn't worm routinely....if you think you have a worm issue, take a dropping sample to a vet and have them test to see if it's needed. If they don't need to be wormed, there isn't any reason to put them through the stress on their system. Fecal testing is pretty inexpensive, and it will give you peace of mind ... and let you know if they need it or not.

Thanks - this is a nice shed and a great price but we would have to put in a shed that is under 120 square feet. But we are turning our Garage into a coop/barn. Our house is 110 years old and the garage is quite a distance from the house -think carriage house. It was rebuilt with cinder blocks in the 50's so it is solid and with a few tweaks preditor proof. It is too far from the house to be of use for our cars, so it just end up being the "dumping zone". So not only will the garage be a "random junk" free zone, it will actually be useful! Woohoo! We are doing some of the work and we are hiring someone to do some of it too.

I still have all the equipment (microscope, fecal solution, slides, test tubes, etc) to run your own fecal exams if anyone is interested. I have a reptile parasite book and quick guide for reference as well. Once you get the hang of it, you can pretty much tell which is which in any animal species.

Interesting article. I personally don't think it's being spread by rodents or flies. I think migrating waterfowl do spread it, but I think its being spread by something these commercial poultry businesses are sharing or purchasing for their operations coming from the same source. Something they order for their flocks. I'm not sure what it would be. It's just been affecting so many large operations. I do agree with the idea that more backyard flocks have been affected, but haven't been reported. Just the number of birds lost by commercial operations is fishy. http://www.wiscnews.com/lifestyles/health-med-fit/article_74a23cbe-dc04-5ebd-9d34-636dd04c929e.html

They tested clean for typhoid/ pullurom. I test all my birds, but don't have my flock certified just because there is paper work and everything you to go through and to me it isn't worth it. The only reason I test is to e able to show and peace of mind. I have seen birds with Mareks and I highly doubt tht is what is going on here. She does have the pale comb and the tired eyes but other than that she is a perfectly happy healthy bird. Sometimes she does Stand around with her eyes closed but not a lot. I also dot think it is mg because I have dealt with birds I had in quarentine that had it and it doesn't match up. I am wondering if it is a temporarily symptom because she doesn't really have anything wrong with her just the pale looking comb and tired eyes. She was in te house all winter an was just recently taken back outside. Before I took her in he comb looked better, so I don't know if not being outside for a few months had anything to do with. She doesn't have bloody stool and no worms that I have seen. I won't worn my birds until I see worms. None of them have ever had then so now have ever been wormed. She is around. Year and a half old an has never laid an egg. I will read the articles you posted later, thank you.

I wanted to mention that just because you don't see worms doesn't mean they don't have worms. I worm mine regularly regardless about every 3 months. Odd she's the age she is and never layed an egg. A healthy bird doesn't tend to have droopy eyes. Worm bound could def be the cause of lack of eggs and pale comb.
