I've read a lot of contradicting info and finally thought, why not ask people from my area!
When is a good age to put my chicks in their coop? We have 3-4 weekers now that we are raising inside. I live south of Bloomington if that helps.

I may not be the best to ask 'cause I baby mine (a lot ), but mine are probably ready to be out full time at about 5 weeks old, assuming it's at least in the 70's. If you'll be providing heat for them in their coop, they can go out any time.

Em~ I put mine out this week, they are 6 week bantams, with a heat lamp at night only. I'm south of columbus, IN.

since were talking about putting baby's in to the coop can i put my 7 week old baby's in the coop with my big chickens(will be a year in a few days)??? the big girls has seen the baby's but the baby's get pecked here and there and i have to cockerels that's crowing so i kinda want them out soon

Thanks guys! I love to recycle. I know it is more work to repurpose things, but I think if more people would instead of spending money on new things and throwing perfectly good stuff away we would have a more sustainable world.

Well my baby girl was born tonight at 7:23pm weight 8lbs 6 1/2 oz 20 in long. Her name is Cerenity! I will post pics ASAP!

We also found out some of out guaranteed pullets may be roosters, how soon will I be able to tell? They ate Rhode Island Reds, Plymouth Barred Rock, and two that came with the barreds buy have tan to copper stripes on wings and black legs...
