INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Not yet :-(. I can hear her, but there are so many places to hide. The neighbors are all on watch! They want eggs too.
Sorry you didn't find her yet, but so glad you have good neighbors. I am fortunate to have great people surrounding me. Besides their initial help in building the coop, they all like to throw scraps/treats over the fence. My chickens are so tame that when they see any person walking toward the fence, they break out into a run to see what treats they are about to receive. We just had a neighbor move & they decided to rent their house. The renters moved in on Friday, so we talked at the bus stop & gave them a "welcome basket" with eggs, garden tomatoes, & zucchini. Let's just say it's better to be honest, friendly, & generous from the start.

Yep! All the Immediatly surrounding neighbors get free eggs, so long as they don't tell the customers hahaha. I can hear her somewhere down the street, but don't want to go traipsing through yards of people I don't know, when they aren't home. She's still around though. I hear her.

I am in search of a good rooster for my 8 hens. I remember tons of positive things said of Cogburn and his offspring, can anyone please direct me to Cogburns owner, and also direct me to any roosters for sale, they must not be Devils. I would like to have one that is old enough to know his duties so he can focus on integrating and getting comfortable by winter.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Cogburn belongs to @kittydoc

I have some of his offspring and they are beautiful birds. The black split roo in my pictures above is his son.

If she doesn't have any extras from him I may end up with an extra roo. They are still a little young to tell right now, orps are slow to mature.

Many will strongly suggest quarantine quarantine quarantine right off the bat. Not only are you protecting your current flock from potential disease but your also giving the newbies an opportunity to learn where their home is. I know it's after the fact but when you do get her you should put her somewhere separate from your other birds, totally separate. There are diseases that she shows no symptoms and can be airborne that could decimate your flock and you would be battling it for years to come.

If she's wandered completely away from your property then I would suggest figuring out where she is and knock on their door to ask them if you may retrieve her. Most will happily oblige. Do this at night and with a flash light. Once you spot her shine the flashlight in her eyes and snatch her up. If you allow her to see a place to go she will flee.

Definitely a must to catch at night in this situation.

Forgot to mention I wish you luck!

We have an extra/available White Chantecler boy (possibly a young Legbar cockerel too).
We are quite a distance from you tho .
Could meet in Angola , unless you get farther up into Michigan in the next 3 weeks (he'll be going to the butcher end of the month if we don't find a new home for him by then).
He's a good boy .

Cogburn is @kittydoc 's. We have a son & grandson from him. Love both. Big & Beautiful.

This guy is so sweet. He's our perfect roo.

This cockeral is only 4 mo & already bigger than his daddy above. Has a lot more filling out to do as he grows into his long legs.
