INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I want to say thank you to the messages I have received and @Leahs Mom thank you.
It is with deep sadness I must share that my Mother, Sally Miller went home to our Lord at approximately 8:40pm Wednesday. I ask you please keep my Dad, Everett Miller in your prayers if inclined to do so for strength. I am of course wide awake.. They Just celebrated their 59th anniversary on the 25th.will be back to our thread soon.
:hugs Will be praying. Let me know if I can help with anything.

Decided to take pictures of all the different quail chick types. Going to Photoshop them for future pictures. These quail chicks are from James Marie Farms eggs I hatched. They are little under 10 days old. All hatched same day.

These quails are 2 weeks old and from my local seller, who buys James Marie Farm's eggs to hatch and sell chicks. The males are getting their rusty chests already! Also found out I got 2 Northern Bobwhite chicks in the bunch!

Gorgeous! I have bobwhites around me and. Ever get to see them. Only hear them. My came by to have dinner and got to hear them calling. I don't think he believed me when I told them I had some that live near me. I never thought about raising them myself. My mom says that chickens are the gateway animal and I'm beginning to think that she is right.

I actually was never attached or really interested in chickens. I've been in love with ducks for as long as I can remember. I've had quiet a bit of chickens, but always seem to sell them to make room for more Muscovy Ducks!

I think every one of us finds the species of birds, waterfowl or livestock we love most. We are a working family farm, so I keep a large variety of animals for our table and freezer. I adore Scovys! They are a cleaner species of duck, more a cousin. Most personable and beautiful duck type breed I have kept. I love to see them fly. Drakes are an excellent table bird too. I do not have any currently but will be adding them again next year.

Hi everyone! It's so great to have a nice weather weekend after such a miserably long hot and humid spell. My eight chickens are doing well including my three five-year-olds, three large, fluffy Orps from @kittydoc and two silly Bantam Cochins from @ellymayRans. :)

So sorry to hear about our Indiana Flock Leader/Thread Starter @jchny2000 —Janet's mother's passing. Her mother, Sally, could not have had a more nurturing, dedicated daughter caring for her. :hugs
(Do these "mentions"@ still work on this updated site?)

@Nyla ~ That's terrible about the car thefts on your street! Does your neighborhood use NextDoor.com? You can google it—it's a social networking site for neighborhoods that is useful for keeping track of vandalism, etc. :caf

Here are two links for petitions against animal cruelty if anyone would like to sign them.
Indiana Governor: Make cruelty to animals a felony in Indiana. Ohio did it so can we!!
This is about a recent local hoarding case where a judge was going to return abused dogs to a hoarder until groups filed an injunction...hope this shortened link works.
