What breeds are you going to be hatching?I am happy to report I found a nest of sorts, 5 pekin eggs! Geese are taking advantage of water puddles in the yard...Don't look Ethel!!!
I'm not starting to hatch quite yet until temps stay above freezing.
If I do hatch, pretty sure I will for a couple months.. Will post the list separately. What breeds are you going to be hatching?
Enjoyed this thank you!In love with this song!!
So guys, here is my list & plans for this year... Please share yours too if you plan to hatch! Even if you don't its always fun to brag on your flocks![]()
If anyone is selling birds, chicks or eggs please remember BYC requires you to post sales/pricing on BST. (Buy, sell, trade https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/#buy-sell-trade.67 ). You can send personal messages also, just don't post sales & prices here or they will remove it..

Rhode island reds-Dark Cornish Rooster covering them. (Project, have F2 starting to lay! Would compare in several attributes to a Buckeye or Rosecomb RIR)
Turkeys
Porters lines, but all mixed of breed and color.
Ducks
Pekin (and one Khaki hen)
Muscovy
Lavender and black, some may be pied.
Guinea
Assorted colors some may be pied.
Brown Chinese Geese
Waiting list! Adding new blood this spring, will be ordering around 10 unrelated goslings.
Quail-possibly
Jumbo Brown Coturnix
LIVESTOCK..
Jersey cows (no calves for sale this year)
Oberhasli goats (registered parents now. My kids can be registered this spring)
This year I will be hatching:
Black, Lavender, Chocolate, Cuckoo, Lavender cuckoo and choc cuckoo orpingtons (wow that sounds like a lot!)
Mille fluere/Calico and Buff bantam Cochins (should have some frizzled too!)
White and partridge silkies and showgirl.
I've been working VERY hard on just keeping the best birds to put in my breeder flocks. I have been selling a few chicks here and there the last few years but this year I should have lots of extras to find new homes. I have began building a homemade cabinet incubator that will hold more eggs than my current coolerbator setup. The coolerbator I used last year will become hatchers now.
Are you hatching any frizzles in May? That’s when I am ordering my chicks. What are the prices and shipping? This year I will be hatching:
