Wow! Such a difference already! Are you predicting 1 & 4 are males? 2, 3, & 5 look girlish to me. (Not an expert, I just like guessing.)I stopped by to post my babies' pictures, too.I'm counting today as one week old for all of them (close enough, right?), so I took some individual pictures of them.

Thanks. DD is just happy he didn't live up to his name. She kept renaming him "Pretty Boy" in hopes that we'd keep him. I was getting tired of him constantly mating my laced orps. They were always the 1st hens he'd mate. Otherwise he was a great roo. (quiet & infrequent crow - which he has yet to do in his new home LOL, never raised his hackles, great with kids, dogs, & other roos, watched out for predators, and was beginning to work on dancing for the hens & giving treats..... instead of forcing them.)So, so cute!!![]()
I'm not sure on the Dominiques. I didn't know they were autosexing?
And 'Dinner' is gorgeous--glad he found a home!![]()

Doms are similar to BRs. If chick's headspot is tight & defined it should be female. Females also have dark beaks & legs and a more even, dark-colored fluff. Males have a more blended irreg headspot and their fluff is slightly lighter.
My current Doms all have poor, splotchy, leaky headspots and their fluff is sort of a gray. That made me think all 6 are male! However, they do have dark legs & beaks. So now I'm hoping they are just poor quality and not really all male.
We are not keeping any kids this year, I already have 1 doeling and 1 wether (neutered boy) sold. They will stay with the mothers until they reach 8 weeks. If anyone is interested in Oberhasli dairy goats, send me a PM. (We can't sell items on this thread.) 2 girls, 3 boys left. All disbudding, shots included and can be registered with ADGA.
I'm at least 3rd generation of goat keeping in our family. They are awesome. They run with my cow herd to eat the briars, poison ivy etc on the pastures. Kinda like a "cleanup crew"! When I am milking them however they stay confined in my primary pasture so we aren't consuming milk tainted by buck smells and poison ivy.I wish I knew more about goats. I would have my Muscovys and a goat and be happy as could be!!!
