INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Tonight was the dress rehearsal

Had a small hatch just 3 eggs. One infertile and 2 hatched EE flock. Had a larger chick of the 2 could not stay up on it's feet. It did ok the 2nd day, seemed to stay upright. Passed this morning. Constantly flipping on its back. Anyone what causes this? I've never seen it before. Feel awful for the lone chick now :(. I'm a week away from the next hatch. I sure don't want to add farm store chicks. I'm going to go look at my babies in the big brooder for the smallest one for a buddy.

Could be temperature fluctuations during incubation. First time I ever incubated, I had many chicks with problems, and my incubator (which I replaced) didn't keep an even temperature, and I also didn't keep it in a room where the temperature was always the same.

Pics of full costume please!
Well this was the wild dance pose in the catalog.

They also did a fun tap routine - with HATS!
They practiced dancing, twirling, & switching the hats as well as all the footwork.

I'll be making a video. However it may take a bit because my family took a few videos (+ lots of photos). I'll try to compile the better ones. Things were very simple back when we used film..... far less pics to view.

Its in my pantry so temps are stable. We did have a power outage and the auto feed water float for the humidity tray failed. I've got 2 1502 sportsman cabinets and rarely have any issues. I bet it was the power failure.

The girls looked stunning! I bet it was so much fun for them!

My neighbor told us last night he is pulling out all his perennial plants including grapes. Needs to wipe out his garden and wants to start over. His son is graduating in a few weeks and they are rearranging the yard for the Grad party. Oh boy, a lot to do quick. I've already taken all their birds, they will be building new coops after graduation. Adore the kid, been good friends with the family since we moved here some 17 years ago.
