INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Someone told me once it was $25 to sell, does anyone know if this is right, do you have to reserve a spot. Can you go in friday and spend the night.
I set up there once a couple of years ago; went Friday night and stayed over. You just go find an open spot. I probably won't set up there again but might go to shop sometime. The spots are measured and they check to see that you don't get a foot out of your allotted space; that was okay, though. What I found (which may not be true every time) was that people are really looking for bargains, so it isn't a place to take your quality birds. If I priced a full-grown chicken at $5, people tended to shake their heads and move on. I spent more on gas and the $20 set-up fee than I took in.

I prefer the Knox and Milton KY (just across the river from Madison) swaps. They are smaller, but I have always done well at them, usually selling several before I even get them all out of the truck. Folks have even helped me unload just so they could see them first. Knox is pretty far for me, but I really enjoy it--hope to go in June. My friend who went with me last year took in about $500, and we only stayed about 5 hours.

The Milton swap will be May 11-12 and Labor Day weekend; Knox is the 2nd Sunday of the month April, May, June, September, and October.

I have an older canon rebel from when they first came out. I love it. I love the ability to change lenses for my bird watching. Especially when I can convert my field scope to a lens. Means I can shoot pictures of something half a block away.

I think a lot of the point and click digitals are pretty good now. Should not set you back too much, guess it depends on what you want to get out of the camera.
If it is for an occasional picture without wanting motion capture you could spend about $100 and be pretty pleased.

Could always Craigslist it with a parcial trade on some chickens.

This is why I love my camera.. Just found this and edited my post to put in on. The clarity blows my mind. Even with only have 8 megapixels. Would love the one of the new ones.. T4i 18 mega pixals on that bad boy. Not sure I could stomache $1000 for a new camera though.
We have mostly ordered online through newegg.com, which typically has best prices for electronics, including Cannon point and shoot cameras. I looked at Consumer Reports and they rated most mainstream brands close to the same score as Cannon.
Nice photo, vickichick!
The new iPhones and iPad retina display take amazing photos.

Was out messing around the yard today and decided to take some pics of the big girls. They were taken with a cell phone so excuse the poor quality.

Being so skittish could not take individual photos as they did not want to cooperate. They are going to be stunning birds.
They look great! Only three of the seven that made it to lock down hatched of the RIR. I did have a temp spike once in incubator so maybe that caused the issue? I didn't ken them to see. Turkeys go in lockdown in a couple more days!
does any one know if this a pullet or a roo?
If I had o guess, cockerel but how old it the chick?
