sometimes ideal will throw in roos on small orders for warmth. If not call them i have ordered from them several times and their customer service has always been outstanding! They refund for deaths within 3 or 4 days from delivery too!I have a question. 2 of the chicks i got in the feathered legged bantam assortment do not have feathered legs but noticing now they have muffs. Anyone have any idea what all bantam breeds have muffs? Oh by the way the chicks are yellow and so are their legs. My other thought is that they messed up and got those 2 mixed up with the bantams but i cant see 2 of the same getting mixed in.
if the deformity is a twisted beak like it looks, they are in no pain and will not cause any issues with eating or drinking i have not even experienced it a hereditary yet either. This is your call but i have had several healthy happy birds with twisted beaksDo you think it's better to cull a chick or wait till a deformity makes them suffer?![]()
is there a special way to freeze them?SOOO happy you made it!!! welcome back to BYC and our thread

On your duck eggs, did you know you can freeze them? They still work great for baking and scrambled![]()

What i do, I use an ice cube tray. Break the egg in each cube, then freeze, Pop them into an airtight container. I have 2 chest freezers. So if I get overstocked, they go in there!
Use within a year.
Old rooster I'm not going to try and guess at what happened though you could be right. I don't think medicated is bad either I just found that most of what I read or was told emphasized the struggle between natural remedies that work and are readily available, and the medicine in feed.
With the knowledge and medicinal supplies i have quick access too: I am better off trying to stay natural
Awesome, like my lil Hope. She has a neck deformity but is strong, robust and eats, drinks on her own. I am partial to the brown chinese and she is my 2nd to hatch. My wish is she will grow out of it, but I won't breed her due to the issues she has.JSUMMERS- that little squeaker will live as long as It wants. I just won't let it breed.
