INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I see many people still online-- just wanted to ask everyone to be safe tonight and tomorrow! It might get bad here (hopefully not). My dad was in the Missouri tornado, it looked like it went right over their big subdivision! They are okay, some property damage and they have no power- probably for awhile but I'm glad that they are safe. I was looking at the updates on weather.com and freaked out when I saw that a tornado hit Harvester, MO...

Many of us up here NE Indiana (Brad, Pipd, me, others?) have a Tornado Watch until 6am. I know it directly doesn't have to do with our chickens (other than the potential of death from winds etc) but they can't survive without us if we don't keep ourselves safe.

Ok, stepping off my soapbox!

Take care!

I'm with you on that. Everyone, please stay safe. Been watching these storms and the news all afternoon/evening for work. We are under a watch in southern IN too. Hoping it blows over...my garden already had enough rain this afternoon, and my chicks seemed pretty scared from the thunder.

I don't know if wells county has a tornado waring or not. I could google it but I am tired. It rained really hard for like 5 mins today and that was it and it has been nice ever since then. I even had a cook-out with some friends. O and I candeled my eggs again lol. I took more time to look at them today yesterday was more like a speed candle, so that was my excuse for candeling today lol. Out of 27 eggs from two different breeders I have 2 with blood rings and 3 that just arent doing anything. But I wait extra long to take out eggs when I pay from them, because I dont want to feel like I lost any money lol. Crossing my fingers

that this hatch goes good, because some of these chicks I am going to use to start my breeding program, when they are adults. Even the eggs I thought were duds are doing way better than I expected them too, although they are developing slower. And they eggs that have bloodrings were from that order and 2 of the ones that arent developing are from that order as well. Honestly I expected for them to waste space sitting in my incubator and not do anything. Although I hate to admit I was wrond lol I'm kiding I am glad I was wrong, means I will get more chicks lol.I don't watch the news alot and didnt know about all of the tornado warnings so everyone keep safe and I am going to check all my critters first thing in the morning.

Im interested in them. I have a Roo and thats it. I need a few hens. There is someone on here that has this breed as well. Cant remember who.. I guess I will have to look at the members list!
she isnt breeding them anymore! Im sorry apparently she focusing on ducks now

Okay I don't really know anything about guineas, and I was wondering something. Do male guineas not get along with other males, like roosters?(except for the exeptional ones that happen to get along). I am not planning on getting guineas just curious.

Yes it was bad last night. I live near you as well. The winds and rain was horrible. Power went off a few times and the lightening was so bright it made my outside security light go off which made my land pitch black unless the lightening strike light up the land. lol
