I think your Dad bought you a nice camera so he could have beautiful photos of his precious grand-chickens. They are charmers!

25 for about $14, $9 if you don't mind waiting a month or so for shipping from China. They dropped the price $4 right after I ordered mine. Figures.
They work well. Even the 2-week old chicks figured them out in a couple of days and I took away their regular waterer.
They are messy if inside. For every drop that goes into the bird, several hit the ground. Outside, no problem. In the hen house, I had to put 17" flower pot trays under the waterers to catch the spillage. The birds drink the spillage from the tray, so it doesn't overflow. Also, you can't put water in the bucket that has debris (grass clippings, hay chaff, etc.) in it. The crud will get caught in the nipple and block it open, draining the bucket.
I am well pleased with how they have worked out. All my birds use the nipple waterers now.

Thanks Mother2Hens. I do not have a tractor but i read in that "Once upon a flock" book on how to make a little pen for any bird. I think I need to invest into a staple gun because I see many different things made out of hardware cloth in my futureCountryHen~ When mine were a few weeks old and not quite so "delicate," they began to go outside and be supervised in their chicken tractor, I would get under the tractor with them in the evening and sit at the end. As the temps cooled off as the sun started to set, they'd end up sitting all over me since I was warm! (I pretended they loved me--ha) Anyway, that helped them get more comfortable being around me-- or on me! Then I'd freak them out when I had to put them in a Rubbermaid tub to transport them back in the house for the night.
Thanks! How are your eggs coming along?Quote:
they are too cute!
OK here is my updates with my newest poults, they are almost a week old now, 4 Royal Palm. Faded black bands showing on only 2 of them on the wings.
My first guinea keet to hatch:
They have a silver tint, with darker silver stripes. Parents are a white cock, and either a pearl or white hen. Very pretty light silvery color.. my silly phone camera is showing it to be more lite tan. 2 of 3 are out.I took out the first little guy when I added water, he was jumping out of the "breed box", and vaulting over the goose eggsSo he was moved in with my late hatch chick from last week, just a day older. I was worried he would injure his legs with all the jumping!![]()

Oh no kidding! and long sleeves too..I always get a good couple jabs and cuts but the stuff sure works good.![]()
I have to get busy on my quail breeding pen, first set is due to hatch. Lots of hardware cloth on that project too, ugh.
Going to try the community pen first, see how that goes.
I have a Production RIR Fully grown roo you can have. I have a very nice blue laced BLRW. He is very large. He looks like this picture from google images. But He is DH's roo so I think I would need $5 or so. not bad for a full grown roo but not free so I understand if you don't want him.![]()
I also have HRIR chicks, it will be a few months but I know I will have an extra roo to sell.
