Introduced in 1897 some seven years after the breed was created by William Cook, Jubilee Orpingtons were named in honor of the Diamond Jubilee celebration of Queen Victoria’s reign. The name is already taken because farmer-lady vickichicki's screen name is the polar opposite of her distinguished real name of Victoria, and she's from England. If I used her name, I might have to pay her a royalty. : - ) Someday my Jubilee will look like this, hopefully.
first name that came to mind was Jules like Jewels. Jubilees are the gems of the poultry world, IMO

I like that name the best so far-- but it's too close to my own because random people call me Jules instead of Julie.
Sorry to shoot down everyone's suggestions! That's why we end up mostly naming our pets generically. So far my Lavender looks much more elegant,
but she's a little older and not in the scraggly phase.

Mother2- I just googled English names when I was looking for on for 2 of my BOs. Clive mad Addeline(rip).

Just had a note from Crafty chick. She's away for the weekend and a neighbor is watching her chickens. Had a dog attack and has lost 3!! Looks like we all need to UP our fortresses!!! Myself included!!

I have a quick question. My friend also has chickens and she says for the last couple of weeks some of her eggs' yolks are runny like the white when she cracks them. The yolks look like theyve been whisked already. I asked her what they eat and she said a scoop of layer feed and a scoop of scratch with oyster shell available. Have any of you heard of that? Thank you!
