Everybody staying cool?? I was sick of the rain, now I'm sick of the heat!!

A friend of mine has a 1 yr old , grey slate Tom turkey for sale. I forgot to ask how much. If anybody is interested , let me know and I'll find out.

On getting chicks for show next year: Lebanon is definitely a good place. The state fair poultry show Aug 12-14 has sale coops. There is a show in Spencer Aug 31 and one in Bloomington Sep 21. The Connersville show is the last weekend in November this year.

Sorry about your chicks. Today i was at the local fair and I saw people carring out multiple dead chickens. A majority were meat chickens, but they were dropping like flies.

lol. true, but i am trying to STOP lol. I even tried putting hand sanitizer on all the time. But it didnt really work because i wouldnt realize I was doing it. If I stay busy I dont have a problem.

OK, smartie pants. If you are going to reject that idea, then try this. Go out and clean under the chicken's roost. Then refrain from washing your hands. Guarantee you won't bite your nails more than once after that.

I sure hope it does, i cant stand the stand the heat and neither can my chickens

For everyone who has expressed an interest in the doings of "Weed Wacker" Jimmy.

He is now putting a little weight on his bad leg. He actually limps with it instead of just hopping on the good one.

The bad news: my wife caught me rinsing out his food & water bowl in the swimming pool.
I am in her bad graces and will have to tread carefully for the next few days. I hate disappointing her by getting caught.

It has been so hot that I have spent 3 days trying to build a 7-hole nest box. Work 15 or 20 minutes. Go inside and rest for an hour or so.
Maybe tomorrow.

Irtehun- I sure hope it does cool down!! Too many things to do and feel bad for the critters!! I've been spraying cold water around the pens and on the roofs every couple of hours when I can. Even the free rangers aren't happy with the heat!

Old salt- so glad he is starting to use it. Has he talked yet? My neighbors does early in the morning. Sort of an eerie screech!
