So I spent a couple hours in the coop, trying to figure out how to use my space wisely. My coop is 4x4x 6 ft tall. I came up with a second level and waist height, for them to roost in front of their window. After Iput the 2 2x2s in, Iplaced all 6 on it.... and then added an extra 9 inches to one side. They are very pleased. Mr. Peeps fell asleep on the roost. They can watch sunsets before bedtime :) planning on scooping poop in the mornings.

Great pictures cluck acres and crafty chick! Ill have to try and get some pics of my coop. I think I posted some in another thread on here. Ill try to find them
Edit: here they are from earlier this year. Where the temporary white wire pen is on back wall, that is where my lay boxes are located. I also added another double roost on the left wall to mimic the right wall.

Looks great. How long is that roost? I left my rafters open in my first coop i posted pics of. The whole coop was built with 2x2's. They work out perfect!

Its about 4 foot cluckacres. They aren't full grown yet, so I may have to add to the left side also. I'll get a better pic when the sun sets. They have a ladder up to it. I put sweet PDZ under the roost only for scooping. Sand and straw below where their food and water are.

We live on the sw side of Indy too! We haven't gotten chickens yet but have placed an order. Do you have close neighbors? What do they think about your roo?

.so Iwas a little late on the sunset. The other pic is down below. The next thing is a people sized door. I made a built in hopper style feeder. I'll get a pic of that another time. It holds about 40 lbs. I like it b/c I made a window to the outside so Ican see the feed level.
