So eggcited, just candled 3 random eggs from the bator, I have babies growing. Happy dance and my son is having a fit that his class will get to share this with him for his science project. 1 of the eggs redeveloping is from my Colombian pair, happy to see it growing,

any body elses baby chicks freak out and some what attcke other???? cuz mine will freak out and then it looks like there either playing or attcking eachother

I just HAD to! Got 6 bantams from TSC, one is a silkie! Now trying to figure out what they are! I know one is a golden laced cochin, all are feather footed bantams

Wow, it's been busy on here!

Gotta tell this story. Went out last night to lock up the chicken pen. Slipped in the snow and yes I broke my arm!!! So now w everybody is blaming the chickens for my downfall!! Pun intended. I've fallen off horses, been bucked off horses. Fallen in creeks and ponds. And many other accidents. Out to simply lock up and say goodnight and finally got my first broken bone! Knew it had to happen sometime.

thought you animal overs might like this. This morning when I went out to feed, my horses had icicles hanging from their lower sides and as they walked over to get their food they sounded like wind chimes!!

Aww hehe! I remember grampa talking about checking to see if the cattle's heads were frozen in place grazing after ice storms, ugh! Amazing how it doesn't affect them like us.

Mine will "cannonball" run and jump in the middle of the group! All the chicks do it, don't know why

I talk to them a lot and that seems to help. Move slowly around them too.

it is so exciting to candle and see them move!!!!! I go show everyone, DH rolls his eyes

but then his nose is stuck in the brooder while he scoops babies up to hold them!

I was just sitting here thinking about what i could use as a motor for my egg turner for my new incubator. Then "light bulb" I had a perfect idea. I had some old car window motors sitting around. So i am going to rig this to fit in my incubator and turn my eggs. Here is a pic. Im so
